Stayed a night here in June 06. This is a smallish "chateau" with 8 rooms or so, run by a couple with the assistance of (I think) 2 or 3 part time staff. It is located on its own but is 5 mins drive from Montelimar, which isnt really worth visiting unless you have to buy some stuff.
The room we had was really nice - huge 4 poster, high ceilings, wooden floors, big windows, massive bathroom with separate shower. No TV in the room or anything like that, but nothing wrong with that occasionally.
There grounds are not huge but include a small pool which made for a lovely dip in the June heat.
Facilities in the house are limited - you definitely know you are in someones house. There is one TV room which generally contained the owners kids, and there is no bar.
Dinner was served outside in the garden, which given the great weather was lovely, and the view is stunning. However, the 7 tables were served by only one, harassed waitress, while the lady of the house went around chatting to people and not helping at all. This meant service was extremely slow, and menu choice is limited. The chef is definitely the husband, who we did not see much, and the food sadly is OK but not great, while the portions are distinctly stingy (when I pay a £3 supplement on top of the menu price for a prawn starter, I expect to get more than 2 small prawns !).
Dinner was livened up by the house dogs though, two cute bichon frisees, though one of them definitely needs to see a vet about its eyes - poor thing.
Anyway, we will fondly remember the evening we had here, because it was quite amusing if nothing else. If you are in this area, and fancy the "small chateau experience", then give it a go, but don't expect too much.
