We stayed in this chateau hotel for 3 nights and found it quite nice. The location is very quiet - in fact, too quiet if you wish to experience "village life". As our aim was to play golf and see local sights, and we had our car, this was no problem. Our room was large enough with a very nice, spacious shower and good hairdryer. Closet space was limited, but acceptable. As usual, I had problems with the mattress, but my husband said it was fine. We had a view of the course and enjoyed the luxury of getting up, breakfasting (good buffet) and heading out onto the course. The restaurant served very good food, and the bar functioned as a more relaxed dining area during the day. There was a nice terrace for dining too. Free internet connection was provided. All-in-all a great place for a short golf stay or a wedding.

My chum and I are participants in a popular outdoor sporting activity
and in January decided to travel overseas to combine a holiday with the European Championships. The governing bodies website recommended various hotels which were in the main modern Travelodge type stuff - not the rustic gite or appealing chateau that we had in mind for a week's stay.

So we looked for something a little more interesting, somewhere with oo la laa. We found the Chateau D'Augerville!

We drove from the UK, (eurotunnel was sooo easy!) picked up my chum from CDG (luggage lost by BA) down to the Chateau. Approaching the Chateau draw wows from all four of us, at this point we realised that
we had got the hotel choice spot on, lucky lucky lucky!

Slight problem at the desk - a wedding on Saturday would oust us from
our accommodation for one night, in compensation for this our rooms were upgraded, we were booked into an alternative hotel and we would not be charged for one night. Fair enough.

This is your room monsieur .... wow, oooo this is niiiice! No really
this is one fantastic place to stay. Rooms, facilities, views, fittings, service all at the top of the yummy list ....

For the money, this was very good value and I would return - I would but you know how it is ... returning can be disappointing if things change, its not good to compare stay 1 with stay 2 .... and memories fom the last time you were there. Lets just say that I had a lovely time with a lovely girlie and I miss her lots!

On Saturday night (wedding) we were moved to the Bas Brau (?) ... will look at that one in a sec ... that was something else entirely -terrible room, not at all what I expected in a **** establishment and
the restaurant - 50 euro main courses should be fantastic, they were not. I had better food, far superior in flavour, texture and overall experience in a viallage restaurant ... food does not need to be pretentious to be enjoyable.
