The chateau was the setting for our son's wedding celebrations during the weekend of June 12th/13th, in this small 19th century chateau. It looks like something from a fairy tale and been beautifully decorated with taste and character. Although the new management team - chef husband and front of house wife - had only arrived mid-week they pulled out all the stops to arrange everything faultlessly. After a wedding ceremony we had canapes and champagne cocktails on the terrace, followed by a superb 3-course meal with local salt-marsh lamb and wonderful wines, before the wedding cake, a delicious "fraisier" or strawberry gateau. Later and into the evening we were handed the keys to the chateau and given the run of the place. We had taken a buffet for the evening and were encouraged to use the kitchens, coffee machine, all the crockery and use the bar as a "trust" bar. On Sunday morning we enjoyed a delicious French breakfast of cereals, croissants, pastries, fruit, locally-produced jams etc., before leaving in the late morning, after, as we all agreed, the best wedding celebration we had ever attended. All this for the ridiculously low price of 2,000 euros - all the accomodation, in fact the whole chateau, all our fabulous food, drinks, champagne, floral displays, faultless service and a wonderful setting. The chateau is set in wonderful parkland and was a paradise for the photographer. It is a superb place for a weekend away but as a venue for a small, intimate wedding or celebration { 8 rooms and suites } it is perfect. Having looked at this chateau on its website before booking last year, we were not disappointed - the place is exactly as it is portrayed - superb!
