It can sometimes be a worry when returning to a place which has so many happy memories. Not the case with Le Relais, in fact our stay was even better than last year. Christine's cooking seemed even better, if thats possible, and our leisurely evening meal (with aperitits and wine) will be savoured for a long, long time. This is a wonderful place but keep it to yourselves, I don't want everyone finding out about it.

Wonderful & relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. Madame Christine was a very welcoming host and her cooking delicious especially the home made cakes for breakfast! Our room was just like the picture on the web site, stylish, comfortable and very clean.

The relais is located in a beautiful setting and is surrounded by Cognac vineyards as far as the eye can see. The scenery is somewhat reminiscent of Tuscany. The relais is a beautifully restored stagecoach post and the rooms are impeccably and tastefully decorated. It is ideally located for exploring the Charente region.
The hostess/owner is extremely pleasant, very helpful with suggestions for exploring the area and very accommodating if one were to have the dinner at the relais. Basically she prepares the same meal for everyone and will try to accommodate particular eating habits which the guests may have. The facility also has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool which unfortunately we could not enjoy due to the weather. I recommend it highly.

We spent just one night at Le Relais de Saint Preuil and wished we had had more time. The pool, tennis court and overall environment are wonderful. The setting is lovely and the warmth and welcoming nature of our host, Christine was not only comforting, it was extremely professional. The family suite is ample and clean. And, the breakfast is wonderful! Home baked breads and cakes, great coffee and teas and an array of fruits, cereals, and cheese kept us going for the day!
We had a very nice home cooked meal (along with cognac tasting and education). If staying one night I might venture out into local villages for a meal; if staying several, it is def. worth having Christine's home cooking...straight from the pool to dining under the stars.
