I had always dreamt of going to Corsica and imagined staying in a charming traditional hotel with its own character and just a few comfortable rooms, in a small village on the mountain far from the city noise...
Well, Carpe Diem Palazzu was all that and much more!
Its charming young owners Christian and Muriel have done a brilliant job restoring this very old mansion into a six suite Hotel de charme, displaying some lovely 18th Century features both inside and outside, combining elegant modern comfort with a respect for traditional Corsican architecture.
We stayed there for a blissful week and every morning that I opened our bedroom window, breathed the fresh crisp air, looked at the mountains over the roof tops of the village houses with smoke comming out of their chimneys while all one could hear was a dog barking and bird songs, I prayed that it would never end.
A wonderful breakfast with fresh products served with a big warm smile by Evelyn, was the best start for our long adventurous days.
Conveniently located, it allowed us to explore most of Corsica's exceptional beauties in less than one week.
We thoroughly recommend it to people of all ages that are looking for a touch of class and a deep breath of fresh air.
