We only stayed one night at this hotel, and found it to be in a great location for exploring the Gorges Du Verdon. Trigance is a small, quiet, quaint village just off the main, crowded tourist track. This hotel has a lovely view over the surrounding hillsides and valley below. The pool and outside seating area is quiet nice and the dinner was just OK. As for every place in France, it is much better and cheaper to visit the local shops for a croissant and coffee than to pay for breakfast (of just that) in any hotel.

Our room was tiny but clean, and the shower was terrific. . . very modern, with all kinds of fun water streams. The bed was comfortable enough, but our window looked out onto the back hillside. Much better to pay a little extra for a view of the pool. . . and perhaps a larger room. Still, the price was right at only 77 Euros.

This little hotel (only 12 rooms) is very quiet en peaceful.
The rooms are small but very clean. It is best to book a room on the south side, ( rooms1-6 swimmingpool). On the north side you have no view at all (rock).
The breakfast is very tasteful and the diner is gastronomic. The staff is helpful en friendly.
At the reception you can get all the information you want about the wonderful nature of the
Verdon.
It is about 2 houres drive to the Cote-Azur.

We needed a couple of nights between Nice and Aix-en-Provence away from the coast. Trigance is a great centre for the Gorges de Verdon, France's Grand Canyon, and Le Vieil Amandier will look after you well. Just 12 rooms, a lovely swimming pool and a cuisine that belies the two-star grading. The modern but unusually designed hotel is on the edge of the ancient village of Trigance. The proprietors are full of useful advice about the Gorges - where to park, walk, find a good view etc. Popular with north Europeans, not many Brits in evidence.
