This recently renewed small hotel is located within the village of Portopalo in the main street near to the most important city services. It is conveniently positioned to visit all the beautiful beaches of the southern part of Sicily and the natural reservoir of Vendicari (far from about 15 km). However, you need a car to visit the surrondings due to the total absence of public services.
The hotel is managed by a family of Portopalo's residents in a very friendly and familiar way. You MUST try the delicious cuisine of Mrs Dora, mainly based on Sicilian fish specialties: in the evening, after a day spent on the beach it is really an enjoying experience...
The rooms are clean and spacious, even if the ensuite bathrooms could be improved. When reserving, we suggest to ask for a room positioned in the front of the building: you will enjoy of a terrace with a beautiful sight on the island of Capo Passero.
We spend a part of our holidays in this hotel since eight years ago and we never have had to complain about any problem.
The hotel is suited for both young or older couples and families with children (we experienced it in both the alternatives...). The only drawback for children moving on buggies is the absence of a lift: in this case ask for a room a the first floor.
A final suggestion: if you can, plan a holiday in this hotel in the last weeks of May or in September or early October: the weather is warm, the places are really quiet and the beaches are almost desert. In these periods,check if the hotel restaurant is open at the moment of the reservation.
