very sweet, family-run hotel in a quiet little village in the valley.

as per earlier reviews, i was a little disgruntled that hotel guests were tucked into the compact grey back room for meals rather than in the more glamorous and spacious main restaurant with non-hotel guests - however, the food itself was served in generous portions and we couldn't fault it for choice as we ate something different every night of our stay (i have the photos to prove it!). i liked being asked to make my dinner selections at the breakfast table, so you can simply sit down to dinner later and it all just arrives at the table when you're ready.

there were also daily snacks at tea time - watermelon or home-made cakes for example - and little treats served with drinks from the bar. we also made use of the fresh water fountain and filled our bottles before going on day trips to garda, limone etc.

i absolutely could not fault the staff - they were wonderful, so relaxed and friendly, happy to chat and to teach italian phrases if you attempted them. we bought two jars of their local honey on our last day and they gave us an additional jar of jam too.

my only tiny quibble was that the rooms are fairly compact and although there were aircon facilities available, they were not activated and the hotel would not switch them on - i know it is an eco hotel, but in very clammy weather, it would have been nice to have the option. even with the door open, it was quite airless during the night.

the only other minor point was that it felt a little awkward at times to share the pool with the staff and their kids.

the only reason i wouldnt recommend it to a friend is that it wasn't quite the hotel i was looking for, for a week's holiday - perhaps more of a long weekend style venue, particularly given the size of the rooms - and i'm not sure it would suit anyone else i know. other than that, it is a very good hotel for its category.

An attractively designed new build in a very quiet village some way above little Lake Ledro and a long way above bustling Rive del Garda, the Elda makes a great base for exploring some beautiful foothills of the Alps, on foot or by car. An appealing combination of boutique hotel and family business, it has the benefit of a decent pool and sun terrace with great views, and a great restaurant - even it's initially disappointing as hotel guests to be consigned to the back room. The half pension is good value for money - strongly recommended all round.

We (2 parents and 2 babies) just came back from 2 wonderful weeks in italy. the first week we spent at the dolomits, the second above Lago di Garda, in a little village in Valle di Concei, Lenzumo. We found Eco hotel Elda after a long search in the net. i loved their site - and knew immediately that site like this means a lot of attention for details. The little hotel was really a pearl. The owners are so kinds, worm and professionals ( Ciao ragazzi, saluti da noi ad Erico e Silvia). The design of the hotel is very chic: bright, clean and modern. rooms are beautiful, food is great (we took HB, which was very comfortable with the kids). We felt like VIP guestes, maby because of our daughter, that received all the attention she needed.... i highly recommend this hotel - for those who appreciate quality vacation in a relaxing ambience.
