We stayed at this lovely motel for 3 nights over a short holiday in Golden Bay. When we arrived the friendly owner of the Motel booked us in, explained everything and suggested attractions, beaches and other nice places to go. We even got a small bottle of milk for free so we did not have to go to the supermarket which is right across the road after our long drive :) . We also did not have the feeling that he does explain all the things all day, every day as he was super nice. He really seemed to like his job. When we drove around to our room we could park right in front of the door. The room itself was very tidy and well equipped. We also had a terrace with 2 chairs and a table to eat outside which was really lovely. This is probably one of the best and most modern accommodations in New Zealand I have stayed in so far. Would definitely stay there again.

We got one of the new family two bedroom rooms - really roomy with great rural views - once you are in the room you have no clue you are at the top of town close to restaurants and bars etc. Free wifi!! and there is a desk with a view for working on which means the table is free for eating off. The owners were friendly and informative - gave us good tips for day trips and restaurants. Its across the road from a supermarket so can whip over for baby food or wine!!. The bit we were in was brand new and modern - everything a family could need. Our family has been staying in a lot of motels lately for various reasons and I feel confident in saying you will not be disappointed with this motel whether you are wanting to stay for business or leisure

Stayed in a 1 bed apt in the original single storey block - they are currently finishing off new 2 storey block which is due to be open by Christmas 2010.

The owner of the property was very friendly and the rooms were very large, clean, well equipped and had free wi fi.

The only down side of the room being that to sit on your terrace with a drink, meal etc you were actually sitting in the carpark. In the new block the terraces and balconies are around the back with good views of the surrounding countryside which will be far superior, so it's worth asking for the new block.

Excellent value for money regardless and only a short walk to the pub and town.

We have been travelling on business regularly in New Zealand over the last 6 years. Luckily my company pay for us to stay at some pretty classy hotels. Having just finished work we are now travelling independently and have found this gem of a motel near the beautiful Abel Tasman coast. The rooms are clean and well decorated and modern (not a set of words I would use about many NZ hotels or motels). The shower is the best I have come across in NZ. Having regularly paid up to $30 a day for internet access (which is then capped at so many megabytes..... and who knows what they are) the Mohua Motel internet is free ... and a decent speed. The pleasant and helpful couple that run it have done a great job. Andy P
