My wife and I went to La Gomera for a week of winter sunshine. Until a couple fo weeks prior to our holiday we hadn't heard of the island!
Residencial El Llano was a perfect base for exploring the island and doing a number of walks in the national park. It is ideally located in Valle Gran Rey for beaches, shops and restaurants (nearby Habibi was our favourite). The pool area is beautiful, really peaceful and full of greenery. We spent a couple of our days just relaxing round the pool- there was no rush to secure loungers and in fact one of the days it was just us and one other couple. As per previous descriptions the majority of guests were German - this was the case for the island as a whole. Ideal if you are a Brit wanting a break from fellow Brits! Quite different from Tenerife. The apartments themselves were quite adequate, plenty of space, nice balcony. Beds could have been slightly more comfortable and a double rather two single beds would have been prefered. Staff were helpful and friendly on the few occasions we spoke to them.
