We've spent 10 days in this hotel in January, 2012. It was one of the few hotels that had available rooms at high season on Christmas / New Year holidays. We didn't expect much from a 2-star hotel, so we were not disappointed.
If you are a fan of Ultra-All-Inclusive hotels in Turkey or Egypt, don't go to this hotel. This hotel is rather for people who intend to travel around the country, move to different beaches every day and don't want to spend too much money for the place where they just sleep.
Advantages:
- is located in between 2 very cool beaches (20-minutes drive by tuk-tuk) Unawatuna and Mirissa
- in walking distance from the hotel you can find supermarket, small shops of any kind and a couple of local restaurants (they look terrible from outside but serve very nice local dishes for local prices – 2-4 times cheaper than hotel restaurants)
- helpful and polite waiters and receptionist
- beach is just behind the hotel’s fence
Disadvantages:
- incredibly annoying local people who are luckily not allowed to enter hotel’s territory. Standing just behind the fence, waving to the visitors, offering free coconuts, showing notes of other tourists recommendations (all very similar to each other) they seem to be very friendly. But in a minute you respond them with even a slight smile they intrude on your privacy, follow you wherever you go, keep telling weepy tsunami stories and bad things about other guys (their competitors for the role of your guide) when they are away. Ignore them on the very first moment, otherwise they can completely ruin your holiday and later you start hiding from them in your rooms, try to escape or become rude to them causing unnecessary tension and stress on your vacation.
- No beach umbrellas and beach beds (only near the pool)
