We had the whole hotel/castle and grounds to ourselves and were given the best suite in the hotel. The hotel is well kept and seems to have been restored in places. The grounds are extensive and generally well maintained but looked like parts were starting to get away from the owners.
Stephan our host was helpful to the extent of driving with us into the town of Uze to show us where to get restaurant parking due to us arriving on a 'festival' day. Stephan is also the hotel chef and while we were not able to sample anything other than breakfast the restaurant in the hotel is probably worth a try though it is not open every day.
This was an excellent 2 day stopover in a unique setting. The town of Uze is also excellent.
