We have just returned from 3 nights at Scotholm in Connel, near Oban. It was a a lovely stay. Generally, we stay in Oban, but on this occasion we stayed in Connel as Oban was pretty full, and we had booked late. I think in future we will stay here in preference, it was really nice. The room had a lovely view of the loch and the bridge, breakfast was excellent, with a really good choice of full Scottish, fruit, kippers and so on. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The B&B has only 3 or 4 rooms, all with a view I think. Our room had ensuite shower, I believe the other rooms may have had private bathrooms, rather than ensuite. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with nice touches, such as plentiful tea, peppermint tea, hot chocolate, and coffee, as well as chocolates on the hospitality tray. There is no TV in the rooms, but a small TV lounge downstairs, and an interesting library. It is a short walk to the pub, and there are several good restaurants in Connel. All in all, much quieter and more pleasant than staying in Oban.
