“some good and bad points”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2007

We stayed for one night as a stop over before flying from Rome airport.

We booked an appartment suite for a family of four (190 euros for one night). We had two good sized bedrooms (one double one twin) and a good sized bathroom.

Good points - good cleanliness and decor in the rooms and communal areas, central location right on the sea front and 2 minutes from the town centre, good English spoken by receptionists.
Bad points - only four car parking spaces in front of the hotel and finding a parking spot right on the sea front is very difficult. We ended up with a parking ticket. The breakfast was poor with a limited selection of food on offer.

Overall we were happy with a one night stay but would not book for a longer stay.

“Beautiful”

We booked the Astura Palace on short notice while we were in Venice. We were very pleased with the Hotel. It is located across the street from the Mediterranean Sea and the views were spectacular. The rooms were very clean and roomy. We would definitely stay here again.

“Great views of the marina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2006

For value for money and comfort, the Astura is a good choice, with lovely views of the marina and beaches if you have a front facing room.
However, there were a couple of things which might become annoying, especially if the hotel was full. Firstly, for a new hotel the walls are rather thin, and one can hear practically anything in the next room - a chair scrapping across the tiled floor, the TV and so on. The staff did move us to a different room, with no problem, but if one had to endure that for the whole stay, I can imagine it would get on ones nerves! I would advise to ask for a quiet room. We tried dinner at the hotel, and whilst it is not expensive at 25€ for a set menu, it did lack a certain ambience and the food wasn't super - there are many nicer places in Nettuno to explore. The parking is another issue, as there are only 4 spaces allocated for hotel guests which are free.
The bathrooms are typical italian, clean but not very roomy.
Overall though we did enjoy our stay, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were of a good size with a balcony, lovely vista over the harbour and comfortable beds. Compared to a hotel in downtown Rome, this hotel was much preferable with its extra size, and the price was pretty good with an excellent seafront location.

“Stay at the Palace.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2006

Excellent value at 70 Euros per room per night, although had been quoted 110 Euros per night by another website. If travelling by car, you will need to secure a free hotel parking space on road outside hotel, as, otherwise, it is 1 Euro per hour from 8am to 8.00pm via the parking meters. Don't know how active the police are as we only stayed one night and had managed to get one of the hotel spaces, anyway.
Hotel smart and modern with 5th floor restaurant, also used for breakfast. Table d'hote evening meal looked reasonable at 25 Euros, although we did not partake ourselves.
A barking dog (apparently something to do with the hotel) was a bit of a nuisance, and slightly spoiled the ambience of the place.

“Beautiful New Hotel in Nettuno, Italy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2006

Stayed in the Hotel Astura for two nights from March 24-26, 2006. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean, functional, and had a beautiful view of the marina & sea. Only recommendation would be to stay on a higher floor (we were on 1), as the locals seem to race motorbikes down the street until late on weekends.

Breakfast was included, was very good with an excellent assortment. It was on the 5th floor overlooking the beach. Very nice.

Price was very reasonable & the town was just lovely. Excellent food & wine. Try Romolo & the pizza parlor across the square in the old town for wonderful meals. There was a 'flea market' on Sunday as we were departing. Got some very reasonable souvenirs.

We were there to visit a family member's grave at the Sicily-Roma American Military Cemetery - who referred us to the hotel. It was very close by - we walked back to the hotel.
