“Convenient Hotel for Business Trips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

I just returned from another stay at the Astura. The hotel is very convenient for business trips in that you can enjoy Nettuno and Anzio in the evenings. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a mix of meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cakes and pastries served on the fifth floor with a great view of the morning sea. Its a very good way to start the day. After your work day, you can walk the shops and relax before dinner. The family who run the hotel are always kind and helpful. If you have trouble parking just ask the front desk for help.

“We loved this family owned and run hotel!”

The hotel was very clean and continuously being maintained. It was near several private beaches and a public beach. The train station was just around the corner from the hotel so access to Rome was easy. For 7 euros you could purchase a return ticket that also gave you access to buses and metro in Rome for the day.
The hotel also offered free wireless in the lobby which allowed us to stay in close contact with family.
The food in the restaurant was amazing. The staff also bent over backwards to help with my gluten free diet. There was a coffee/ snack shop just up the street that served gluten free desserts.
My only regret was that we only stayed a week.

Room Tip: Rooms good size , several with balconies available.

“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2010

Just returned having spent 3 nights in Astura Palace.

Its a lovely clean bright hotel with nice dining room on top floor.

Rooms clean bright and airy and we had a balcony at the front with sea view.

Breakfast was great with choices of juice and coffee with lots of room to spread out.

Although hotel is located on sea front with road between it had no beach or garden area.

Staff were generally very helpfull however one of the girls on reception did have an attitude problem.

Good value for money and recommended

“Good out-of-Rome option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2009

Based on other reviews this is probably not a good base for visiting Rome but our purpose was quite the opposite – we wanted to avoid Rome and Fiumicino for our last night returning from a motoring tour of the south. Hotels around the airport didn’t appeal nor did driving into downtown Rome. Nettuno allowed us to (a) avoid Rome (b) have a pleasant last evening in a seaside location and (c) have a reasonably stress-free drive next day straight up the coast to Fiumicino airport spending a couple of hours in Ostia Antica.
The hotel itself was fine – friendly helpful reception staff, nice reception area, reasonable size bedroom and bathroom, safe and A/C, balcony with view over marina (not all rooms), TV though not many channels (SKY available at €8pn but beware it’s nearly all Italian).
Parking could be an issue in high summer. The hotel has 4 spaces outside but I reckon the chances of getting one are low. We parked 100m down the street at pay and display rates. There were spaces available in the promenade car park further down and these may be free.
Breakfast was unexciting but fine, with no cooked option despite two tantalisingly placed (empty) serving dishes.
Hotel was quite convenient to old town which was hopping on a Friday night.

“Top of the lIne”

Extremely nice hotel and wonderfully friendly, helpful front desk. Rooms were larger and more comfortable than expected in an urban beachfront location. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach. We only stayed one night prior to a morning flight from Rome. It's a bit farther to the airport than we expected and apparently the roads can be quite congested, although we didn't encounter any problems early in the morning.
