“A good relaxing holiday”

My wife and I have just had a glorious two week vacation at Villa Tranquilo. We stayed in the self catering apartment and we feel that this was the best choice for us. The apartment is very clean and provides everything you need. The beds are comfortable, although we found the pillows rather hard. The bathroom is spacious and there is an excellent walk in shower, with a good water pressure, to give you an invigorating shower. Satellite television is provided and we spent many an evening watching English TV while having a relaxing drink or two.
The title of the Villa describes itself and the area exactly. It is located in an extremely peaceful place and I suppose you have to be sure in your own mind that it is what you want. The small town of Albatera is about a ten minute drive away and there is a good super market here. There are one or two restuarants and we enjoyed Tina's the best. The menu here is very varied and the cook, ( Tina ), is excellent. However it does have the appearance of a cafe.
car hire is essential to get aboutand we found that the small town of Quesada and surrounding area had a good mix of eating places etc.
Could the Villa improve what it offers, yes it could. We felt that a washing machine could have easily been fitted into the self catering apartment, as all the plumbing etc is already there. There is an ironing board and iron provided, but the are rather old and the ironing board needed some running repairs to stop it falling down and the steam iron leaked so badly that it could have been dangerous.
However, all in all Dave and Dee provide a perfect get away from it all enviroment and most importantly, they let you get on with waht you want to do.
Would we recommend it to family and friends - yes we would and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: I would always select the self catering apartment.

“Relaxing Holiday”

Just had 2 weeks in the self catering accommodation, there was a welcome pack on arrival which provided enough basics until you got to the supermarket which was a 10 min drive away. The accommodation has everything you need, fresh linen and towels were provided about every four days.

Dave and Dee are very helpful providing maps and information on the area, also recommending places to eat, there is a very nice Italian resturant over the hill in Hondon which we were invited to by Dee to help celebrate her birthday (3 courses 14.95 Euros). Down the hill at the Churros Bar the owner's wife will do you a very nice large pizza, 2 large beers and 2 coffees, 15 Euros.

Plenty to do in the area, even though we had a car we did Alicante by train from San Isidro station, 5 Euros return, we walked around the old town and the castle was well worth a visit for the views.

There was nobody in the B&B for most of our holiday so we had the place to ourselves, the pool was very welcoming, a nice 28 C, which we used every day to cool off, with splendid views of the mountains from your sun lounger.

Thanks to Dave and Dee for an enjoyable holiday.

“A peaceful and relaxing location”

We stayed at the Villa Tranquilo for a week in May.
As this was a return visit (the only place we have went to for a return stay) we knew that we would be having a great relaxing holiday.
On our first visit we stayed at the Bed and Breakfast and were really well looked after, on our second visit we stayed in the self-catering cottage which contains evrything you will neeed from comforable beds to fresh lemons and oranges straight from the trees.
Dee and Dave are great hosts and have a wealth of information on the surrounding area and things to do and see. They will see to your every need or leave you to youself, which every your prefer.
We are looking foward to another visit later in the year to relax beside a great swimming pool surrounded by beautiful views.
This is a really good place to relax and recharge your batteries, well worth a visit.

“A truly relaxing retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2011

I knew even before we arrived at Dee and Dave's beautiful oasis that we would love it there. We wanted to get away from the noise and glitter of mass tourism and have some quality time in the surrounding small towns, villages and mountains, and this 8 day vacation gave us this plus more! Dee and Dave were friendly and very welcoming, and had alot of tips and suggestions for places to visit and eat out at which were all excellent. They were always very supportive and non-intrusive in their hospitality, and my husband and I could feel at home in our little cottage there. The accommodations, the view of the surrounding mountains, the peace and beauty of the grounds and the added bonus of their swimming pool were all truly wonderful. We will certainly go there again, and heartily recommend this to others!

“Great for relaxing, great service, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

We stayed at Villa Tranquilo for 2 weeks in August and had a brilliant time. The villa totally lived up to and exceeded its reviews.
We self-catered - there was everything we needed and more! The beds were very comfortable, the walk-in shower amazing, English TV and the gorgeous fruit trees outside which we could pick our fresh lemons! And THAT pool..what can I say, after 35-45 degrees all day, what better way to cool off!
Dee and Dave were absolutely brilliant as hosts. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and helpful in directing us around the local area. They even provided a birthday breakfast and birthday cookies for my fiance! And you have to try Dave's paella and curry!
With regard to the local area, on the advice of a previous reviewer, we also used the local station at San Isidro as a starting point to visit Murcia and Alicante (twice!)
We preferred the beach at the far end of Guadamar (towards Torrevieja) as it was relatively quiet (especially in the afternoons)
A little tip - if you are travelling to the 'must-see' hilltop village of Guadalest, do what we did, set out early, arrive there at 10am and you will have 2 hours virtually on your own before all the tourists take over!
Overall, a wonderful stay.
