Very spacious and comfortable room, friendly and attentive staff, well cooked & not ridiculously expensive bar meals, excellent breakfast, and great to have use of the pool/sauna (although the changing room was rather chilly).

Location is very attractive and the mill is worth a visit (and I don't mean the on-site Edinburgh Woollen Mill, which is full of the usual tat).

The walk to the Falls of Clyde is very picturesque, and it would be even more impressive if Scottish Power didn't extract most of the water above the falls to channel to their hydro-electric station. Apparently they magnanimously turn the tap back on twice a year - very generous of them.

If we'd been mid-week to the hotel, it would have cost £59 for 2 people B&B, which is a brilliant deal. Even £79 is excellent value for money

Just had 2night break here with 5 friends our second year . Break was perfect from start to finish. Arrived friday had afternoon tea was lovely , dinners were excellent and beautifully presented. Staff excellent service and friendly. Rooms very spacious and clean. 3 had treatments massages and manicure and were so relaxing therapist very good. We all enjoyed our swim in afternoon pool was quiet. We booked for next year when we checked out.

We stayed from the 31st Jan- 2nd Feb 2012.We rented the Waterhouse which is right on the river,it was clean and tidy with everything you need for self catering,however the inventory stated 6 glasses, cups, plates that sort of thing when in
reality only 4 or 3 of these items were in the kitchen.If u want to nitpick the windows were a bit dirty in the Waterhouse with no wifi, the rushing water could keep you awake, the changing facilities were a bit strange within the spa being communal where if u wanted to go to the gym u would also have to walk right through the changing area. Did not see the staff which is not a bad thing, i think you only want to see staff if there are any issues where we did not have any. Check in and out the staff were friendly.We did not eat in the hotel,did think £11.50pp for breakfast steep. Overall we paid £76 for 2 nights self catering in a great spot where we would recommend.

We booked the Burns Supper night at New Lanark and what a wonderful stay for the price.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and had afternoon tea in the lounge. Very reasonable at £7.95 per person with a lovely selection of fresh sandwiches, cakes, scones with cream and jam, and home made shortbread. The young man who served us could not have been more helpful.

The rooms are basic but clean and the real selling point is the setting and the view from the window –just stunning.

The Burns supper had all the elements you would expect including a piper, immortal memory, toast to the haggis and a really good ceilidh band. As an added bonus there were young highland dancers from a local dance school who were just lovely to watch.

The food was surprisingly good for a banqueting function and included, thick broth, haggis bon-bon with turnip puree and mustard mash, chicken ballontyne with mixed vegetables and Crannochan with raspberry sorbet, phasalis and fresh raspberry. Coffee and fudge to follow.

The breakfast was also plentiful and the service excellent.

We enjoyed it so much we plan to book again for St Andrews Night.
