“Our own quiet.”

The main problem with Nature’s Paradise is that TripAdvisor.com will not let you rate higher than five stars. This place was truly wonderful and stunning at highly affordable prices.

We found the “off the beaten path” style to be the perfect arena for relaxing, adventure, romance, and cultural exploration. Nature Dave’s knowledge of the culture and history of St. Lucia, suggestions for exploration, and Eco-tours provided a welcome respite from the resort style vacation and hoards of other tourists.

We stayed in the Banana Cottage for a few nights, then the Coconut room for a night. Both were roomy enough for two, and provided ample need. The temperature in the rooms was comfortable with a nice cross breeze coming off the Caribbean Sea. If you are a light sleeper, I might recommend earplugs as the night-time brings out a symphony of tree frogs, but it is a pleasant song to fall asleep to.

It is worth mentioning that the sunset from the pool was uniquely different each and every evening we were there, so it would be smart to plan to see them daily.

Both Dave and Wanda were highly accommodating to some last minute plans, and provided all sorts of help. We had a wedding on St. Lucia and Dave and Wanda went out of their way to ensure everything happened smoothly, an act of kindness that we will never forget.

Room Tip: There is a small private beach at the bottom of the hill. We saw four other people there during our...

“A Week To Remember”

Dave and Wanda have a wonderful B&B named Nature's Paradise on St. Lucia. They are thoughtful and terrific hosts. They have been on the island about ten years and have so much knowledge to share. Listen to their suggestions. Dave told us to take a taxi from the airport. That was an excellent suggestion. The roads are steep and there are many sharp curves. It takes over one hour to get to Nature's Paradise from the airport. That evening Dave took us to Chateau Mygo for dinner and picked us up. This was so nice because we had a long flight that had begun before 6:00 AM. We were able to relax.
Nature's Paradise is truly a paradise high on cliff over looking the Caribbean and entrance Marigot Bay. Wanda has worked very hard to create a mini rainforest over the entire property and around the pool. She also prepares a breakfast Monday to Friday which includes fresh fruits. All are grown locally. Some are even grown at Nature's Paradise. The breads, cheese, juice, and coffee were always the best.
By all means go on Dave's Eco Tour. This gave us both a chance to enjoy the island while Dave drove and explained different areas. He is a wealth of knowledge. Dave and Wanda took us on some side trips to areas of the island that we would not have seen. We hiked to a waterfall and climbed part of the way up. They pointed out many interesting plants. On Saturday we went with them to the Farmer's Market in Castries. They took us to their favorite vendors. We were able to purchase fruit and vegetables. One purchase that
we brought home as gifts were cocoa sticks. They were $6.00 EC. We saw them at the airport store for $8.00 US. We would never have found the parking garage in Castries or the vendors without Dave and Wanda. On Sunday they suggested going to the Pink Plantation for brunch. We had a terrific brunch. The food is excellent and views are the best. The Pink Plantation is an old plantation house that is high on a hill overlooking Castries. We were able to see the harbor and colorful buildings. One of our favorite places to drive to was Pigeon Island. We hiked in the park. There is a nice beach and bath house inside the park. We wished that we had brought a picnic lunch. You must have a four wheeled drive vehicle as many roads are difficult to negotiate.
Just before sunset we would go to the swimming pool for a swim. We would watch the sunset over the Caribbean from the pool. No two sunset were the same. The pool is opened 24 hours a day. We also enjoyed sitting on our porch (Banana Cottage) watching the ships pass, having a glass of wine, reading and totally relaxing. St. Lucia is a beautiful island with friendly people. Thank you Dave and Wanda for an experience that we will never forget.

Room Tip: The two cottages are very quiet and private.

“Great hosts. Perfect views.”

I should start this by saying that I wasn't planning on staying at Nature's Paradise. After an unfortunate experience at a nearby inn, Dave and Wanda came to my rescue on a Wednesday night at 10 p.m. by coming down to Marigot Bay to pick me up and giving me a lovely room. The grounds were beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast (especially Wanda's coffee and bread) was excellent. I didn't have a lot of time to explore the grounds, but what I saw was gorgeous. David even drove my sister and I down to the bay for dinner and served as our taxi driver to our next hotel. We also walked to a really lovely, quite secluded beach for a morning. The best experience may have been a tour to Millet Bird Sanctuary with two other guests and Jeremiah, one of Dave's and Wanda's former employees. Just one more pleasant surprise on a very friendly and beautiful island.

“What are you waiting for?!”

There is absolutely no place like Nature’s Paradise and no better hosts than Dave and Wanda. We heard about this tropical oasis from friends of ours who had gone in May and had absolutely glowing reviews about the beautiful property, their hosts and the island in general. We pulled the trigger and booked in June for a December vacation. It was so wonderful, we didn’t want to leave- and that is very much an understatement.

Natures’ Paradise is above an beyond anything you would expect from a typical bed and breakfast scenario. The houses are perfectly situated on a cliff above Marigot Bay, so you have incredible views of the Caribbean Ocean from both the cottages and the pool area. From nearly nothing, Wanda has built amazing tropical gardens that mimic the island’s rainforest and botanical gardens. It’s worth going just to see her work and meet the extraordinary gardener, Lyon, that helps her maintain it all. The cottages are spacious and comfortable with important details like cold beer and water in the fridge and a hairdryer that is better than my own. The grounds are so beautiful and calming, it is tempting to spend all day there- staring at the ocean and listening to the palms rustle in the wind.

Having said that, Dave and Wanda will inspire you to get out and explore even if you are determined to plant yourself on your backside for the day. With a decade of residency under their belts, they know the island VERY well and can point you in the direction of the most interesting and amazing spots on the island. If you go with Dave on his Eco-tour (which we did), you will find yourself in a rejuvenating mineral bath, having a gourmet lunch with breath-taking views and seeing the most beautiful plants and picturesque waterfall. We learned so much about the island’s history and culture from Dave that we felt right at home by the 3rd day of our trip.

Our stay at Nature’s Paradise was both relaxing and adventurous. There are so many wonderful things to experience in St. Lucia and we wouldn’t have known about half of them if it wasn’t for Dave and Wanda. They are truly interested in their guests getting the very most out of their stay on the island. Morning breakfast conversations provided an opportunity to ask questions and throw around ideas of things to do and beaches to visit- this is a personal touch that you just don’t get from a large resort. We highly recommend Nature’s Paradise to anyone looking to vacation in St. Lucia. We have been back for 2 weeks and already planning our next visit!

Room Tip: the Banana Cottage is the most private and the Avocado cottage is the next best.

Very beautiful location, lovely people and very peaceful. The view of the ocean from above is fabulous, and taking a swim in the pretty pool surrounded by gardens and overlooking the coast while the sun is setting is a sublime experience. If you don't have a 4x4 vehicle, you'll have to walk down a tough road to Marigot Bay (about 30 minutes), but it's great if you want some exercise and there's a lovely little isolated beach to visit along the way. Breakfasts are healthy and good. Highly recommended!
