I was a guest at a wedding here (Amber W's wedding, to be exact). At first I was disappointed that we didn't get a "Bay View" room, but then I quickly realized that our room was very conveniently located (no long flights of steps), plus it had its own hot tub on the deck! You really can't go wrong either way, though, because the Bay View rooms do have amazing views of the surroundings. The floor and the furniture are all dark, teak wood -- very imposing, and very luxurious.
The staff really were impressive -- they put up with so many requests over the course of the weekend, and always responded gracefully and generously. When we got hungry while swimming in the pool late at night, after the wedding, the staff brought out the leftover hors d'oeuvres from the cocktail hour.
The bay itself is charming: it's surrounded by lush hills, there are yachts moored in the turquoise water, you can walk along the marina and look at the boats (especially fun at night), and there are all sorts of restaurants close by (via a quick ferry trip). If you are looking for a real beach, this is probably not the place, but we split up our trip to do both, which worked well: spent the first few days in the Rodney Bay area, then the next few days in Marigot Bay.
