Staying with Normand and Louise is like a low-key house party - guests come and go, socialise and go on trips together if they fancy it (and to reduce costs -St Lucia is NOT a cheap destination!) or do their own thing. It wouldn't suit you if you want wild night life - no noise after 10pm is politely requested - or conversely if you want complete privacy as three of the rooms share the generous space around the pool rather than having private terraces or balconies. But if you fall between these two extremes the Inn on the Bay offers an excellent option for those who hate large hotels but don't want the hassle of doing all their own arranging of trips etc
What makes this place so special is the superb attention from Normand including booking two days worth of 'surprises' for my 60th birthday, constantly ferrying guests up and down the (rough) road to the bay, fixing the erratic St Lucian internet access and always acting the congenial host. With Louise and Rose's quiet attention to the housekeeping side of things you can be sure of a comfortable and relaxing stay at this small B&B.
TIP: the roads on St Lucia, especially the west side, vary from just adequate to atrocious, and we write as experienced off-road drivers. We hired a car and enjoyed exploring but going beyond Marigot Bay for dinner was just not on - you'd be sick driving back. To see as much of the island as possible, and especially if you want to dine at some of the very special places like Ladera or Hotel Chocolat, book yourselves into those places for an overnight stay.
