Stayed at Sheriva Villas for 5 days in a 1-bedroom pool suite. This is THE place to stay on Anguilla. We checked into our suite at night and our private pool was all lit up. It was a perfect welcome. We slipped into the hot tub and were served drinks by the butler(ess), Simone. The suite itself was super huge with a walk-in closet, marble bathtub, wooden floors in the bathroom lounge area (yes! the bathroom had a lounge area with a daybed), a double shower (very romantic for couples) and we were right next door to the gym, which is really impressive. Lots of cardio machines and free weights and a total body machine.

When we woke up that first morning, we were greeted with a breakfast spread fit for a king. They have a menu where you can order whatever you want for breakfast - banana pancakes, bacon or sausage, spinach omelets...you name it, and Sherry Ann (the chef) can whip it up. We took the advice of a past guest and asked for a golf cart. (If one is available, you can use it, though its really included for full villa rentals only. Suite guests usually get driven back and forth to the beach by one of the staff). One was indeed available and we were able to use it to go down to the beach on our own (only two minutes away and we loved the golf cart ride. It's a huge golf cart for just two people). The beach there is one of the most spectacular sights ever. Gorgeous stretch of sand, clear turquoise water and we had our very own beach chairs and umbrellas. The guys from Sheriva brought down beach towels and a cooler with ice and bottled water for us every day. We took our own wine and diet coke to the beach and just stuck them in the cooler. (Only plastic cups are allowed on the beach). We had signing privileges at Cap Jaluca's restaurants and boutiques, so we never had to walk with credit cards. A great service. We just took some small change to tip the beach guys and the waiters.


We really needed some downtime on this vacation and the Sheriva staff made it happen for us. We asked for extreme privacy and the housekeepers were so discreet, we thought they were fairies or something. Everything was always clean. We'd come in from the pool deck and the bed was made, clothes neatly folded, fresh pool towels in the basket, water restocked in the gym. Just amazing!! Whenever we called the office for recommendations, Latoya or Jeannine were always ready with the perfect answer.


We ate at Blanchards and Mangoes. They were really good like all the other comments said, right on the beach and exceptional service. Loved the lobster cakes and conch chowder, respectively. We went local and tried B&D BBQ one night and also ate at Tasty's restaurant. Both were really good, and a offered a budget-break from Anguilla's more expensive menus. Tasty's serves up the best seafood salad in the Caribbean! Try the crayfish when you go to Anguilla. It's their indigenous version of a smaller lobster. We had Un Amore delivery one afternoon and they make a to-die-for philly cheesteak and awesome calzones and pizza.


All in all, we just chilled at our pool, enjoyed the beach and the luxurious surroundings at Sheriva. (We took a tour of the entire Mystique villa. It is 21,000 square feet, has three pools and five giant master suites.). Some of the negative comments about this place must be bogus. I don't get what the other suite people are complaining about. We LOVED the privacy, our pool, the ridiculously huge suite, the wifi, the breakfasts, the beach experience and most definitely, the staff. We travel a lot in the Caribbean and you just know when you've found the spot. Sheriva Villas is it. We left with a sense of sadness because it felt like we'd made lifelong friends over just a few days. I would definitely visit again for a long weekend or with friends in a villa, most likely Mystique.

I am just writing in response to the guy dragging down the overall rating of the Sheriva. This place was amazing! Top notch! My wife and I visited a while ago and hope to return very soon. Lets see, there is a guy complaining that the shuttle didn't wait for hours because their plane was late, complained of tipping the driving because he want the Sheriva van as his personal car service, and complained there were bugs found on a carribean island. And why in the world do you need a heated pool in Anguilla?

Anyway, do not listen to him. The staff and facilities were very enjoyable!

We went to Sheriva Villas during the holidays and it was our first time visiting Anguilla. What can I say about our experience? To sum it up in one word: PERFECTION. We were met at the airport by our driver and enjoyed the 10-minute ride to West End. The driver was professional and chatty, made us feel very welcome from the start. Upon driving through the gates at Sheriva, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful view St. Martin. Absolutely stunning. VILLA: When we actually walked into ouor villa, we were met by Simone who gave us chilled towels and then offered us rum punch with the most delicious welcome appetizers - cheese platter, shrimp cocktail, and a type of rum cake. Delicious! We stayed at the Harmony house and it was huge. 8 bedrooms in all, but we only rented 6. The walk-in closets are so grand, 4 people could easily sleep in one of them. Next we met Jeannine and Latoya who gave us a tour of the entire house. Again, we received a warm welcome and couldn't be happier with our impeccable villa...super spacious, immaculately clean, a large tv room on the ground floor, we had two pools to ourselves and a great music system at the top floor pool deck. The marble and hardwoods added a nice touch and really made the house feel luxurious. The photos on the website are nice, but seeing it in person is a rewarding experience. We all loved the little office area with a printer and a scanner and our very own Vonage phone. The kids loved the game room, which wasn't at the house, but a short walk to the main office and upstairs. They played foosball and air hockey and there's a ping pong table, too. During our 6 days, we developed a good rapport with our housekeepers, Shanaz and Angeli. They were always so upbeat and willing to do just about anything. Whenever we'd put something in our laundry hamper, it would "magically" re-appear, clean and fresh and folded. Kudos to those hardworking ladies! FOOD: We are a large family and usually going out is a hassle, so we chose to eat in most of the time. I was skeptical at first, but this worked out great. Sherry Ann is a fabulous chef and she will make whatever you want. Mac and Cheese for the kids or grilled lobster. Just make sure you give your dinner orders a day in advance. We realized some things were really hard to find here at the supermarkets, but if they don't have it on the island, the staff will sometimes order stuff from St. Martin for you. Every morning we had breakfast and it was always fun to see what new fruits or pastries we'd get. You can order eggs and bacon or anything hot from a menu...and the prices are pretty reasonable when compared to restaurants on the island. Which brings me to my next topic: RESTAURANTS: We were lucky enough to be on Anguilla when Blanchards opened the Beach Shack. This is a really cool place and the prices there are ridiculous...in a good way. Hot dogs for like $6, great tacos, burgers and frozen yogurt. And you can go for a swim while you wait. Mango's restaurant, which is also a highly recommended restaurant, also serves lunch now, but we went there for dinner and loved it. They are known for seafood, so try just about anything from the conch (pronounced konk) chowder to their infamous Brazero Lobster or the grilled snapper - you won't be disappointed. We also ate at Blue at Cap Juluca and liked being right on the water and just a short stroll from our beach chairs. We had sushi at the Sunset Lounge at Viceroy. Great sushi, but the place was just way too packed and very noisy. We LOVED the peace and quiet at Sheriva. BEACH: Sheriva doesn't sit right on the beach, but we got a golf cart with the villa and we just hopped on and drove 2 minutes to the beach. Every morning we'd get there and our towels would be set and our umbrellas were open. They even leave us with a cooler full of ice and bottled water so we didn't have to keep running to the Cap restaurants for water. It was such a great service. I really got a sense that the staff really cares about their guests and always stay a step ahead. Unlike other hotels we've visited, everyone seems really genuine at Sheriva. One day my niece forgot her suntan lotion and sunglasses in the foyer. Within minutes, one of the guys came down to the beach to deliver them to us. That's what I call service! FUN DAY: We decided not to rent a car as the concierge suggested, but we did take a tour around the island by boat with Gotcha Sea Tours and then had lunch at Sandy Island. This is one of the most memorable outings we've ever had as a family. We left the Cove beach dock at around 11 oclock in the morning, sailed up the coastline, and then went to Sandy Island. What a fabulous place. They grill everything to order - ribs, chicken, shrimp, crayfish (a tiny version of lobster only found on Anguilla-YUMMMM) or lobster. We loved eating the local rice and peas and Simone, the manager, was unforgettable. TIPS: 1-Taxis do get expensive, so maybe arrange a rental car in advance with Latoya, even if just for a few days. 2-Driving on Anguilla is on the left side of the road. 3-We tipped quite a lot and recommend bringing lots of cash in small denominations.Sheriva doesn't keep cash on property. 4- Make restaurant reservations early in advance. When it gets busy on Anguilla, restaurants fill up fast. 5-Get an in-villa massage. This was such a relaxing experience. The masseuse came right to our villa. A rooftop massage at sunset is simple bliss. SUMMARY: We had the most wonderful and relaxing vacation thanks to the wonderful staff at Sheriva. Anguilla is a magical place, but it really makes a difference in where you choose to stay. There are lots of places to stay here just to be seen or heard, but if you need some private / relaxing time in your very own space with pampered service, stay at Sheriva. We plan to go back next Thanksgiving.

We decided to get on solid ground for a few days and Sheriva Villas had availability in a 2 bedroom pool suite. We didn't need an entire villa, and were a bit reluctant to book after reading some of the recent reviews. As this was so last minute, we really didn't know what to expect when we arrived at the Blowing Point ferry, but we were met by a professional taxi driver with our name on a clipboard just outside the exit doors. The drive was only about 5 or 6 minutes to the Sheriva. When we pulled into the gates, we were met by Latoya who had been instrumental in confirming our reservation in such a haste. We had confirmed a suite, but we walked into a massive 2-bedroom VILLA with the most amazing views of St. Martin and the ocean. We had rum punch served by the ever smiling Simone and then took a tour of this magical place. We had a huge infinity pool, suites the size of our apartments back in the US and UK, marble floors, a hot tub, WiFi worked great, we felt very private and safe, breakfasts in the morning were superb, a large gym was downstairs, and a small office area on our main floor (which we hardly ever used because we sat in the jacuzzi most of the day). We asked if we could use a golf cart as the property was fairly empty and they graciously obliged. We used it to go down to the beach during the days when it was really sunny (there were a few days of rain over the period we visited). We had lunch at Smokey's which is really nearby and tasty. Try their lobster sandwich or chicken curry roti. We also dined at Straw Hat and had a superb dinner there. Their wine selections are actually impressive. We stayed in one night and ordered from the Sheriva menu. We had rack of lamb and grilled lobster. Chef Sherry Ann is brilliant!! The villa meal was one of the best meals we had while on the island. We decided to rent a car and explored the island a bit. (Taxis are quite expensive on Anguilla). Shoal Bay East is absolutely breathtaking and we had a cheap and cheerful lunch at Uncle Ernies on the beach. The only downside of our quick getaway was that it rained alot and we didn't get to do more exploring on this lovely little island. We left feeling ready to take on the world, or in this case, the British Virgins. I read other reviews that unless you rent a full villa, you get shoddy treatment. But we definitely didn't experience that. The staff was above and beyond courteous, the rooms were spotless every day and we couldn't have been happier with our short stay at the Sheriva. I can honestly say that Sheriva was an outstanding choice and we hope to return with family and possibly rent a full villa.
