“Can't wait to go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

After a long drive it was a pleasure to get into this hotel and go to our room. It was a more than adequate French hotel style room and was clean and well appointed. we did not expect any frills such as tea/coffee making equipment so were not disappointed. The icing on the cake was the restaurant. food superb, service abosloutely what one should expect and we came away feeling that it hadn't been just an evening meal but an eating experience we would always remember. The staff were more than pleasant without being too pushy. Go back there?.... You bet!

“Great little hotel on Juno Beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

We stayed here at the beginning of September for three nights and enjoyed every bit of it. We are not picky travellers but were totally thrilled with our room which was a corner top room on the 3rd floor overlooking both the harbour and the beach. Two huge windows which was awesome! ASk for this room, it was great. Bathroom was small... but when you only spend time in your room to shower and sleep, who cares!

Location was great... ask the front desk about the history of the hotel during the war... you will find out that the Germans used this hotel as a headquarters and for supplies...

Lots of parking spaces close by... many restaurants to choose from, including the one in the hotel. We saved some money by going to the boulengerie down the road a bit for sandwiches... 8 euros for the two of us to have lunch... great bargain!

All in all we had a great time at this hotel... only thing negative I can think of is that the free wireless internet did not work in the room, might have been too far from the hub... but every morning I went down for a coffee and connected with no problem.

“rooms very cramped and noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

The outside of this hotel looks great, the resturant area is very pleasant but the first thing we noted was the staircase to the top floor, very steep and very narrow,if have knee or hip problems forget it!. The room was very small and we could hear the people in the next room using the toilet very clearly!,
The couple in the next room kept us awake snoring and coughing,

“Pleasant little hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2008

The hotel was perfectly adequate for a one-night stay. Room was small and basic but you could (just about) see the sea, double bed also on the small side and the shower took a bit of getting used to - hand-held and you had to press a button at the side to get the water coming out, No hair dryers in the room but had to ask at reception for one. Separate toilet which seems to be a feature of French hotels no mater how small - a very good idea. No lift so had to carry luggage upstairs, no big deal but may not suit some people. Very well placed for visiting D-day beaches. Parking outside is easy to find. Nice little restaurants down the road, didn't try the hotel itself for food. Staff very relaxed and friendly. Recommended and good value for the price.

  • Liked — Proximity to D-day beaches and local history, price
  • Disliked — Small room

“A nice hotel on Juno Beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2008

Very friendly, Maria & Michael (owners) always had a smile.

Bedrooms we had were small ,but at the price 50 Euros per night
more than adequate.
Food was good if you ate the fish aligned meals. Breakfast was a little disappointing @ 8 Euros.
However, it was a very relaxed Hotel. I enjoyed the stay except for the seagulls outside our windows 'all night'. Don't they ever sleep!!
Parking was outside the hotel and available even on Bastille Day!

  • Liked — Friendliness
  • Disliked — Noise from Seagulls, outside the window all night
