I used this hotel as an overnight stop before going to Lake Plitvice the following day. It's a good 30 minutes drive from the hotel to Lake Plitvice National Park. Korenica is a very small town with just a few convenience stores.
The hotel itself is far from luxurious, but cheery and bright. My room on the third floor (attic) is sparsely furnished - a single bed, a small TV (that didn't seem to work), a small nightstand and a chair. The bathroom is well-lit and the shower is alright. The 2 big advantages are air-conditioning and the abundance of electrical outlet in the room. The major disadvantage is that being on the attic floor, half of the room has very low ceiling (less than 4 feet). Also note that the elevator does not reach the third floor.
I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The food was not great, but the quantity was sufficient. The breakfast buffet has very little choice and ran out of food/dishes constantly. The restaurant staff was not very enthusiastic, but the receptionist was very nice and responsive. I asked for an extra bath towel and it was brought up to my room immediately.
Last September I stayed at the Hotel Jezero. In terms of location, Hotel Jezero is an excellent choice as it is right at the entrance to the National Park. In terms of room quality, both Hotel Jezero and Hotel Macola are mediocre, but nonetheless adequate for an overnight stop while exploring the beautiful National Park.
