“fantastic holiday”

we've just got back from turkey and what a holiday. the hotel staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. the guys working in the Havana bar and Bar Cuba, Carlos, joey, Ossie and all the others were always laughing and joking and were great entertainment. If you fancy a good meal go to the Oasis restaurant, great meal, great prices. Don't book trips with the reps, they are too expensive, right next door to Oasis there is Al Pacino at A&S,he'll tell you about the trips and you'll get them at great prices, much cheaper than the rep. Great entertainment all through the day at the hotel, and great entertainment at the Havana bar and Bar Cuba. Give it a try.

“A great holiday - good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

My partner and I are both 25 and stayed in this hotel in August 2009.
Although we did have a great time on our holiday I would say that the hotel is better for families with children rather than couples. Families all seemed to be having a whale of a time!!
I wouldn't say the location is great as it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach and the restaurants and bars along the front, this didn't bother us too much - we're young and don't mind walking, and there were no hills - flat all the way. There are also plenty of nice restaurants around the hotel.
The pool area was always very busy but somehow we still managed to get sunbeds even though we usually weren't up until after 9:30. However on the mornings that we did get up earlier we could see that people were putting their towels down to reserve the best sunbeds at 7am (even though the hotel said that any towels left at this time would be moved - they weren't).
Food in the poolside snack bar was alright, nothing special but fair for the price.
Food and drinks in the restaurant were a decent standard for the price.
Entertainment was pretty terrible but my standards are fairly high as i am a singer/dancer anyway, so most people would probably find it entertaining.
At first some of the hotel staff seemed fairly miserable but as the holiday went on and they begin to recognise you they become more friendly.
The 'nightclub' in the hotel was fairly quiet but great for the families, especilly for those with children 15-16, they seemed to have a great time here!
The reps seemed to work hard day and night, round the pool, in the restaurant bar and in the nighclub.
We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel during our stay, prefering to go to the beach and the bars along the front (would recommnd the malibu beach bar - reasonable drinks, good entertainment, friendly staff).
I personally wouldn't choose to stay in this hotel agan as I would prefer to stay somewhere a little closer to the beach and beach bars, however i would recommend this hotel for families with children (aged 7 - 16??). Overall, a good 3* hotel if you are on a bit of a budget.
PS - If you go to the turkish bath make sure its at the start of your holiday as they will rub off a whole layer of tan and you will have to start from scratch! If you have sensitive skin just don't do it!!

I didnt stay at this hotel but went there every night. The reps worked long hours but never showed it, they were always very entertaining and friendly. The entertainment was fantastic for all visitors and had something different every night. The food was well worth the money and didnt take long to come...the staff were also great there. I went with my young son and it was great because it had an excellent park and arcade. Staying there in october and cant wait!!

“Brilliant Holiday, loved the melay and sister hotels.”

Great time at the Melay and sister hotel Sunshine smile which is just over the road. The staff are brilliant, cant do enough for you, the hotel and pool area are well kept, the hairdressing salon staff are great hairdressers they did my friends hair made an excellent job of it . The entertainment is great especially TEA TIME, he comes around about 4 o clock in the afternoon selling his cakes they are gorgeous, watch out for him and his trolley. There ware four people in our group and we all loved it, going back next year. Plenty of shops close by, supermarkets, clothes, bags you name it if they haven,t got it they will get you it believe me. Turkish bath great, not too keen on the turtle island trip though, it was all day and scorching ,never saw a turtle yet, give that a miss if I were you. Icmiler market another great morning out laughed all the time we were there. Highly reccomend the Melay or Sunshine smile and forgot to mention the Melay is attached to the Club Atrium which is where TEA TIME comes around with his cakes. Holidaymakers have the use of all three.

“Dissapointed!...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2007

My family and I have stayed in Marmaris for the past two years, this time being our third. Both times we stayed in Club Anastasia and loved it! My sister met her husband there and the staff arranged a lovely night for them!
However this year we tried a different hotel, Melay, and i'm sad to say we were quite dissapointed for a number of reasons...
The food there wasn't very enjoyable and gave us upset stomachs, the waiters weren't overly helpful and we felt that they had difficulty understanding English! The 'all night bar/club' was horrible, very quiet and dirty, we had to ask for cloths to wipe the tables with ourselves!
The most horrible thing was the cleaning, the cleaners were in and out of some rooms (mine especially) in a flash and didn't actually clean anything! There were hands marks all over the mirrors and dust over all of the furniture! Also the bedsheets had makeup all over them which I know for certain wasn't mine!
In the end we used Club Anastasia in the daytime most days and went there everynight for drinks and entertainment... luckily enough the staff there still remembered us and welcomed us with open arms! All we really did was sleep and shower in the Melay hotel and I wish we didn't of had to do that!!
We will definately not be re-visiting Melay in the future... but it was a mstake we learned from!
I strongly recommend Club Anastasia for a future holiday, it may be a little more expensive than some places but it's everything you could ask for and the waiters and barstaff have become part of the family! Hehe!
