Billy the barman is the shining star at this place. TJ meant well but all he was really interested in was the ladies. The first question he asked me after my name was if it was just couples I was with.
We only had hot water on the sunny days and had to cope with cold showers on the cloudy/rainy days.
A pair of earrings vanished from my friend's room and when we went to tell the manager he just said they can help us to look for them in the room or we could go to the police. We had already looked in the room...
USE THE SAFES IF YOU STAY HERE.
You have to pay for toilet paper after the 1st roll but when you pay next to nothing to stay there that was ok by me.
We had to move rooms on the 1st day as the lock broke on the door.
The dogs across the road are quite noisy and woke me up more than once.
Sarah's bar at the end of the road is very convenient and the staff are friendly. They put on some good entertainment at night.
I enjoyed my stay but dont think I would go again although never say never...

I suppose the title says it all, but all i can say is we will never stay there again. Whilst only paying £14 for the week we should not have expected much, but what we did get was even less than expected. No lift (after expressing a ground floor apartment) 1 toilet roll and not so clean towels (was changed once) no hot water for washing or showering (was heated by solar power, and we did not have the best week regarding sunshine) lights that came on and off when they felt like and a manager who scorned at me every time i complained . The couple of staff that did work there were always happy and cheerful but when we did order food (2 days in advance, sunday dinner) we were told that we could not have 1 as nobody else had ordered 1. Summing up not a great experience but 1 we will never experience again.

Things started off okay apart from the £100 for Air Con and Safety Box for 2 weeks, thought this was a bit steep. Could hardly sleep at night with Air Con on as it was like a helicopter over your bed with the noise. As I said everything seemed okay for the first few days then we noticed the cleaning of the apartment consisted of the rubbish being taken away and that was it, the apartment and balcony floors never saw a mop the full two weeks and you were lucky if sheets towels were changed twice and this was not without a fight. People were at reception constantly about this but the crazy reason given was the apartments were very busy and rooms are all full, get more towels and maids then would be the answer. The emphasis in the Sayer is get cash by all means, to exit the complex you had to run the gauntlet of badgering by the hair dresser and bar staff to stay in the hotel to eat, shave, drink etc and those who ignored this were not made welcome. The manager sits on the till at the end of the bar from dawn to dusk and this is all he is interested in. As said before the pool was very murky and there did not seem to be much cleaning of this during the two weeks, at the back of the baby pool there was a water trap that had went stagnant and green round the edge, the mats surrounding the pool were never cleaned and the plastic drainage strips were also black with mould.

While we were there 4 of the young staff group were let go due to it becoming quieter, they were physically pushed towards the exit by the manager as they tried to say goodbye to guests, man management not his strong point. Talking to the staff they informed us that they do not get paid as such but are on commission, this would explain the constant badgering to stay in the apartment and spend all your money there.

All this said there is a real opportunity here to make a very good complex, great size rooms and balconies (well ours was, don't know about the rest) great size pool and plenty of sun beds and room for them. Staff in the most were friendly, good fun and couldn't do enough for you, Billy, Ali, TJ, Wee and Big Ozzy, Jimmy and Jack not to mention Sexy Chef, lol, its in a great location also and could be a winner if more effort was made to please the guests rather than just get their money from them.

Food in the complex was reasonably priced and well prepared and they always had a set menu for the evening ranging from 15L to 20L, breakfast was 5L and on a par with everywhere else. All in all the food was good for the odd evening if you could not be bothered going out but drinks are a bit more expensive than most. :-)

Arrive home on Sat 10/9/11 after 2 weeks at Sayar Aprts. We stayed there about 8 yrs ago and to be honest it doesn't look like any improvements or decoration has been done since then. We had a one bed apart which was roomy, but there was only just enough storage space for two although the apart was for four (luckily there were only two of us!) The tiles in the living room were badly cracked and broken, there was hardly any self-catering equipment - only small glass cups, four bowls, no plates, one large pan with lid, one frying pan. Luckily we didn't intend doing much cooking so it didn't bother us. The two beds in the living room were only pull-out armchairs and would only have fitted children or small adults and were very uncomfortable (we did try them out). The maid service was appalling - the sheets and towels were only changed once during the two weeks we were there. At one point the maids had not been in for four days to empty the toilet or kitchen bin and we had to go a ask for them to do this. The apart was not mopped during the two weeks we were there. We asked for air conditioning in the apart because of the intense heat and were appalled when we were told it would be £40.00 for each week. We had no choice but to pay since it was so very uncomfortable at night without it. Since we were there last the entrance has been changed and you now have to go in and out past the bar/restaurant. This is annoying because the staff are continually asking you to get drinks and food even though you make it clear you don't want to eat or drink there. We did have one breakfast but it took ages to appear and the sausage was undercooked. We also tried an evening meal and although the food was well cooked the service was very very slow and in fact after waiting an hour for my sweet, we cancelled it and then had to wait for the bill. The water in the pool was very murky, you couldn't see the bottom. Also it was just too deep in the shallow end for those people who couldn't swim or were not very tall. Several people there had contracted ear infections, which they said was because of the pool. We definitely will not go back again.
