Had a week this year. Excellently sited on the sea front - I think all rooms have sea view. Nice restaurant -decent food. Room very nice with best view we've had from a hotel room. Entertainment was low key.
Good value hotel would expect to pay a lot more elswhere.
Resort however a big letdown-theres nothing there or anywhere else on the Almeria coast. Dont be fooled by tour reps description of friendly locals - the Spanish guests (there were lots) plus the locals insisted on a war of attrition against all Brits- dont believe me ?then try getting on a bus if you dare!
Their behaviour including a group of OAPs was a disgrace-even our yobs dont 'elbow' kids in a bus queue.
Great hotel in the wrong place.

Just returned from a stay at PortoMagno Hotel in Aguadulce. Wanted to be the first to post a review as we found our stay very good. The hotel is about 25mins by taxi from Almeria airport right on the beach in Aguadulce.

Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable with nice balcony views (we stayed over looking the front of the hotel). Swimming pools are clean, even if very cold! Hotel is close to all Amenties, Shops, Bars, Restaurants.

All in all, a Very Pleasant stay if your looking for somewhere hot, quiet, relaxing but still with things to do & see...

Stayed at the Porto Magno over Christmas and New year. If the restaurant was sorted out, it's got potential to be quite classy.
Food was pretty bad but plentiful. Restaurant service poor.
Rooms shabby but fine - seemed to be in the process of redecorating so this may change. Definitely make sure you get a room overlooking the pool or sea, especially in the winter, as the other side of the hotel is north facing and so room cold and no sun. We changed over to a pool facing room in the 2nd week - were warm as toast and sunbathing on the sundrenched, sheltered balcony.
Reception service and bar staff good.
Exceptionally generous New Year's bash.
Wonderful terrace overlooking the sea.
Lovely quiet small resort.
Would we stay again at the Porto Magno? Definitely but would go room-only and breakfast in the bar or local cafes.

Hotel Porto Magno Aguadulce Four stars at Aguadulce a few km outside Alemria city, close to the port and its bars and discos, 100 mts to the beach. On winter there were many retired people for the whole winter.

It was a good choice as we were close to Almeria anc close to the motorway to travel around Almeria.

The best was the Restaurant A la Sal, the first time I have ever had dinner at the same restaurant, excellent cheff at excellent prices, everyday was a surprise ... (a great one of course LOL)
