“Good food andNice facilities. Different design makes for more engaging conferencing facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

Have stayed here a number of times now so though it was time to review. My reason for being here is location - my client's office is next door so I might not necessarily choose it as a Stockholm hotel. It is not too far from Arlanda and not too far from the centre of town. In Summer the setting is very pleasant with parks and open spaces near by. Good leisure facilities - lovely pool and gym make for relaxing added value. Conference facilities are good though not pletiful. The rooms however really need updating. Beds are not very comfortable unless you are lucky to be put into a 7th Floor room - much better. But they are a good size so you don't feel too cramped. The food is good quality from breakfast right through till dinner and the staff generally are very helpful. The outside whilst an old palace - actually feels a bit functional. All in all - good for business if nearby. If looking for a Stockholm tourist spot - I'd probably move closer to town.

Room Tip: Ask for a 7th Floor room or double bed

“a bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

I stayed at this hotel on two occasions because it was reasonably priced and in the heart of the city. Hotel is a bit worn out, standard rooms are very small and furnishings look cheap. Not very clean either. More expensive rooms with view are better value, with larger bathrooms. Breakfast was very good, though. Free internet is a plus too.
The reception has serious problems with adding frequent flyer program information, on both occasions they made a mistake and as a result I didn't receive any miles.

“Look before you book”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

Reading the reviews for this hotel has annoyed me. People complaining because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Try looking on a map before booking might help.

This hotel is in the middle of a business area and is about 35 to 40 minutes ride from the airport. Stayed here as I was doing some work at my company's Stockholm office, which is about a 10 minute walk so the location for me was perfect.

I ate in the hotel every night and every morning and the food was great. The staff where very friendly. My only real issues with the rooms where that they are all wood flooring so everything echo's and the TV is very small and in a fixed location so you cannot watch TV when in bed . Free internet access is one of the fastest connections I have ever had in a hotel.

“Lovely nature setting, some misses, unlucky timing with extremist-group conference”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2010

Orginally given a standard room that looked miserably depressing, paid to upgrade to a rather pleasant, if somewhat small, newly-renovated room. Quite a nice/pleasant feel in the room, and typically Scandinavian (functional). Had I paid full price, I would have been bothered by some misses we experienced:
- Downstairs bar is very charming/cozy with an open fire, but food was really not good - probably one of the driest burgers I've had, and at $20+ it wasn't a deal)
- Free entrance to adjoining Sturebadet bath/gym/spa is nice, but does anyone really pay the $50+ entrance fee otherwise (for a fairly cold "heated" pool)?
- Others have raved about the breakfast (nice views) - a step better than the standard, healthy Swedish breakfast with real coffee but nothing really to write home about
- Personally thought that bedding could be better (lumpy pillows & polyester-ish comforters), but then again that's de rigeur in the region

But the setting is lovely - lake beside is frozen over and you can walk on it, and if you want a nature setting it's great. Didn't try it, but there are buses into Odenplan/town.

Overall though we had an enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with a conference held by the Swedish-Democrats - a rather racist/xenophobic political party. Bumping into many of these conference guests left us with an unpleasant feeling (even if imagined). Wonder if Radisson considers its choice of conference customers?.

“Good choice, but out of the centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

Have stayed here several times on business trips. It is efficient and comfortable, the swimming pool and sauna being nice bonuses. Rooms of average size with desk area. Some have twin single beds, so watch for these if you prefer a larger bed. Bathrooms quite small. Breakfast is good. Restaurant is ok for the occasional meal, but the menu choice is quite limited. There is a Pizzeria and a Thai restaurant about 10 minutes walk away if you don't want to go into the City to eat.
