Do not choose this hotel pleaseeeee!!!
I’m going to give you , just a little insight of our stay:
-The owner tried to cheat on us, and wanted us to pay an extra fee for using the air conditioning ( five Euros per day) imagine!!!
-we arrived at 6.am and the reception only opened at 8ham, we had to wait outside
-you only have one hour of breakfast(8h00 to 9.00), and there were lack of food
-We had prepaid dinners, and we couldn't choose the food (they served us whatever they wanted), and we had to pay the drinks as extra.
-Last but not least, in the second day, someone used our toilet and forgot to flush, so we find a little present in the toilet, when we arrive from the beach!!!
If you can, please choose another hotel, don't give money to these people!!
The location was good and that's it!

I and a friend with three children stayed at the Marirena hotel. We arrived late, and we did not get the food we had payed for the day we arrived. We had prepayed for breakfast and dinner under our stay, and the dinner was the cheapest thing they had on the menu. We got dinner for around 7 euro each day.

One evening, the owner went over to two english ladies who also had prepayd food. He said that since they had bought expencive drinks in the bar the previous night, maybe they wanted vine this evening. I think he was upset because the drinks they bought was in another bar.

We had mold int the kitchen furniture after a earlier leakage, and when I complained, the owner made the cleaner wash and spray. I had a baby with me... The fridge was also full of mold.

There was not able to shower without holding the showerhead, because there were no hanger.

The childrens swimmingpool were covered with a wooden plate. And theres no elevator. Every time someone went out of their room, it was a big noise. I woke up several times because of this.

I was hesitant to make a reservation, but finally a good reason for the price I made the reservation.
When we arrived at our hotel welcomed a pleasant middle-aged man (we learned later that he is the owner).
Our stay at the hotel was better than we expected.
This contributed to the excellent location which is situated 50 meters from the sea.

I have eaten at the Dioxysos Taverna many times, which is part of the Marirena Hotel, and is also owned by George Stamatakis. The food is always prepared in an appetizing manner, and the vegetables are always fresh. The service performed by the staff is always above expectations. The prices are favorable for a tourist who is on a budget. In the evening, George Stamatakis visits each table personally to make sure that all has been prepared to the satisfaction of each guest. He takes a personal interest in making sure that his guests leave happy and satisfied. I would recommend the Dionysos Taverna to all of my friends who visit Crete.
