“It looks good, but it's not!"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

I chose this hotel because i wanted something less expensive, close to the beach and with a sort of local feeling. The experience on the whole wasn't entirely bad, but the hotel has a few downs i think you should know from the start:
- it is not at all close to the beach and unfortunately it is located on top of a hill - quite a steep hill- which you have to face 2-3 times a day. the hotel provides a bus with a 'regular' service, but we hardly ever caught it.
-the beach is relatively small, with a combination of sand and stones, and the entrance into the sea is preponderently stony
- the town it itself is boring, few places to go and see, a lot of same bs for tourists you see everywhere, nothing interesting
- we found 1 spider, 2 cockroaches and a few mosquitoes in the room, but we had the room on ground level, next to a lot of vegetation. The room was ok, clean towels, but with a persistent smell of chlorine and cleaning products
- the food was great, everything for everybody. you have to pay for the drinks( we had HB), but i knew that and didn't really care.
- the animation is something, unlike the others, i really enjoyed, because there was none and that made me very happy:) complementary you can play voleyball, basketball, tennis. billiards, table tennis and internet are not free and quite expensive. (5 E for 20 minutes internet)
- the personnel was very helpful and amiable, the manager ok, the pool is ok, except for the water which is freezing
- if you don't feel for germans, don't go here. it is designed entirely for german tourists.
- if you have the chance, visit Thesaloniki, it's one of the best cities ever.
- do not use the KTEL bus system, it really sucks. rent a car, it's easier, confortable and safe.
-the best part was the hotel's cat, a big lazy fat cat which awaits you at the restaurant on every occasion:)

We stayed at Atrium for 3 days, with another couple. The hotel is very nice, the surroundings are great. The food was excelent, for every taste, with a various menu , the staff very helpfull.
The road to the beach every day was delightfull, we could admire the local gardens with palm threes, olive threes and bloomed oleanders. Also, after a copious breakfast some movement was really recomended.
The beach is nice, water very clear and the locals hospitable.
The hotel is very clean and has an interesting architecture, palacial style also has a lot of flowers and green spaces.
I can't wait to go back next year!

“Great hotel, great service, great pool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2009

My husband, my three years old boy and I had just returned from wonderful stay at Atrium hotel , and we liked this hotel very much. The food was great, and the room were always kept clean, staff can not do enough for you and all the time you see the menager checking to see that everything is ok for you.The beach was lovely, but we liked more the Ksenia beach , and the beach at Aleksander the Great hotel.

“ATRUIM HOTEL - a thoroughly peaceful and relaxing break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2009

This hotel is about one mile from the beach. From the beach, it is gentle uphill walk from the road to the main street, then a steeper walk up to the old square, the quite a steep walk to the hotel from there. If you don't stop, you can do it in about 20 minutes, or there is the hotel bus from about 09:00 - 19:00 there and back in five minutes, with a break of about two hours at lunch time. It's all downhill if you are going to town or beach.
The resort has an excellent selection of taverna's in the main street and on the sea front, and they are in my opinion excellent value for a meal, snack or just a drink. There is an English bar and a couple of lovely greek bars and supermarkets around the Old Square. The beach is shingle and sand, and the sea is calm, clear and warm. It gets deep from about 25m out.
We have been to the hotel several times from 2006 - present, and tend to book independently. The hotel is modern and generally of a good standand. It's not seven star but it doesn't pretend to be. The restaurant is clean and food is wholesome, and there is an international menu, including a fried breakfast if you want it in temperatures approaching 90. There is plenty of salad, cold courses, hot courses, breakfast cerial, tea and coffee, icecream and friut juice available. The bar serves a variety of drinks at a little below European prices, and is genearlly open until after 1 am, but doesnt make enough noise to carry to the accommodation.
The decor is modern, the staff are polite and fluent in English, and the rooms are well maintained, kept clean, have fridges and air conditioning. You either get a spectacular view of the hills and woods, or the sea, or both. The kids club as far as we have experiencesd is in German, so no good for English kids, with the exception of the most determined and outgoing. It must be said English reps have full use of the excellent facilities so they have the opportunity to organise activities for English families.
The clientel is generally German and eastern european. I find they are the most common nationals visiting the resort.
I could recommend Pefkohori for a quiet, relaxing break, with all usual, and in my experience, cheaper facilities of a high standard. The Atrium Hotel is an excellent base for your holiday there.

“Good hotel and amenities and very friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2008

We arrived late September this year. First impressions of the property were very good with a nice pool area and pleasant overall appearance. The Hotel is up a steep hill and it took several days for us to become accustomed to the walk from the town. There is a shuttle bus but it runs only every two hours during the day, so I would not recommend the location to disabled persons unless they want to stay on the complex. I would also ensure that if you have walking difficulties to book a ground floor room because there are no lifts. We stayed half board and found the restaurant facilities to be excellent. A wide range of food was offered at both breakfast and evening meal to suit all tastes. There are many nations staying at this Hotel so it has an International Flavour. The rooms are well appointed with Fridge, TV and aircon. Our room had a double and a single bed. The balcony had table, chairs and the view over the area was beautiful. Just a word of warning, however, the drinks in the restaurant and the pool bar/ entertainment room are very expensive especially with the current poor exchange rate. A beer with a short and mixer for your wife is 7.5 Euros for example and a coffee 2.95 Euros. These prices were, however, common in the resort. The most expensive was "The Fashion" Bar who charge 14 Euros for two French Coffees, by the beach. We had a good stay at the Hotel and would recommend it. We travelled with Thomas Cook who looked after us well.
