“could be anywhere on earth...”

of course this place have nothing to do with Barcelona or Spain, but it is very handy to stop here when travelling by car. I go between Malaga and Sweden and other destinations in Europe. The good things about the hotel is that I never found it full, they have a private parking, it is clean and correct and not too expensive. They also have free wi-fi and a choice of smoking or non-smoking rooms. The food in the restaurant is in no way exciting, but the menu for 9.95 with a starter, a main dish and a dessert including drinks is good after a long day's drive. Both the restaurant and the cafeteria have a smoking section. If you just want to stop to eat and sleep this place is ok and it is very easy to find from the motorway. Surprisingly one can not hear the motorway in the rooms even though the building is only some 100 meters away from it. I think I have stopped here 5-6 times and will continue to do so provided I am not visiting Barcelona.

“An ok hotel on the motorway but a bit of a nuisance to get into town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

We were travelling by car to Barcelona where I have always had trouble with crime so decided to stay and park outside town. This hotel was okay for what it was - a motorway stop on the outskirts. The nearest train station was a bit too far to walk to so we ended up parking in a dark station car park to catch the train - not the real intention. The hotel was modern and well equipped with an average restaurant.

“Nice Hotel - Just too far”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2005

The Hotel itself was more than adequate for a couple of nights. The main problem is its distance from the centre. There is a good train line which takes you in to the centre in about 25-30 minutes. However its getting to the train station which is the problem - you have no choice but to get a taxi which costs approx 12-18 euros each way. This obviously needs to be factored into the cost of the trip as two + journeys each day can add up.
Overall if you want somewhere quiet that is pleasant then this could be your hotel - if you would rather spend more of your time near the centre then perhaps look elsewhere.

“Ashoteles, BEST Motorway hotel chain in Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2005

Hello All,
I´ve found an excellend motorway hotel chain
in Spain. It´s called Ashoteles. BEST value for money
you can get. FREE parking for your car, individual garage,Air con, Wireless Internet connection, exterior playground for kids, HUGE breakfast, very close to Barcelona city cenntre. Only 15 min by car.
We´ve been there last summer and we explored the city
with no need to use the car at all. we left it parked at the hotel and used the shuttle bus of the hotel to go to city.
I highly recommend this option. Great rates all year round!
