A business trip to Wakefield had me scouring the web looking for last minute accommodation. I always prefer to 'roll the dice' and pick a smaller independant place to stay, rather than opting for one of the soulless generic hotel chains. The Woolpack was an excellent find, Clare and Ian delivered a first class welcome, the atmosphere and decor in the pub were superb and the rooms were clean, warm and smartly decorated. The dinner menu offered a nice range of traditional dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The only drawback was the absence of wifi in the rooms, however I can recommend the cozy corner table by the fire in the bar as a very acceptable 'office' . A great stay allround!
