We have just returned home from six wonderful nights at Casa Sisti. We were in apartment 7 - which was exactly as it appears on the web site. The beds were comfortable, towels and linen were clean and in good condition. One bedroom was very large, the other was a good size, the bathroom was large, the kitchen was as specified, and we ate all our meals outside (the kitchen had a large table and chairs but we did not need them). We did not use the living room at all - instead of watching TV we sat by the pool. The pool was large and well-maintained as was the jacuzzi, and we enjoyed wandering round the grounds among the fruit trees. We have never been to Tuscany before and cannot compare Casa Sisti with other places. We felt that the price was reasonable and that we received very good services for what we paid.
Mr. Sisti was consistently friendly and welcoming - although we did not understand one another's languages at all. Liliana was a very great help - always ready with a smile to advise us where to go and how to get there, helping with little problems (a broken light bulb was immediately replaced), and making phone calls in Italian for us to our next hotel and to the Uffizzi museum (book before you come - there were no tickets available when Liliana called - we did get in eventually thanks to her advice where to go. Having been to the Prada in Madrid we were disappointed in the Uffizzi - expensive, hot and unfriendly).
The location is excellent - close to San Gimignano and Volterra (which we found more attractive than San Gimugnano), within easy driving distance of Pisa and Florence. We also enjoyed a visit to Colle di Val D'Elsa and Monteriggioni (hope I got that right).
We recommend Casa Sisti very highly - comfortable, reasonably priced, good facilities, good location and very helpful staff.
