Rather small and worn out hotel in Rio within walking distance to Copacabana. The hotel lobby is nice – small but clean and you can read newspapers over cup of coffee. The rooms on the other hand are not so comfortable even though they are relatively large. The bathroom is pretty basic, no comfort and not too clean. The same goes for the rooms – not to clean (we had to share our room with some ants) and in need of refurbishment.
The neighbourhood is safe during the day but you’re not recommended to go out during the night. I had no problems going across the street to buy some soft drinks but the locals seemed to be surprised by my presence.
The hotel has good location and reasonable price for Rio and if you’re not expecting too much and are satisfied with only basic comfort you should be fine.
