I stayed at this hotel during the New Years ever period this year. I was surprised at how nice the hotel was from the staff to the rooms. The shower was excellent and the rooms were simple buy clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool, patio is lovely. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The parking was available at the rear of the hotel for 20.00 R a day which was a big question before I arrived. We took cabs to town at night from the hotel because the area and wanting to have a drink. This worked very well. The area outside the hotel is not somewhere you would want to venture alone at night but it's not as bad as portrayed in other reviews. During the day, Centro offers a great area to walk and check out the old buildings very nearby. Lots of cafes and shopping just a short walk away. The new renovation of the Opera House is amazing. All in all a great place

We stayed one night in a small room behind the elevator shaft and had to sleep with ear plugs in. The bathroom was small, filthy and had a shower like a hose. The staff did not want to help, it felt like they just wanted our money. We asked them to book us a cab which never came and they tried to charge us nearly double what it cost us to hail one on the street. The restaurant food was like the buffet from last week, soggy, stale, Gag-a-licious. The worst value for money Brazil has to offer.

I stayed just one night at this hotel but I can tell it was very pleasant to know it is located right in the center of Rio de Janeiro. The location is the best of this hotel. Room and bathroom were clean and well disposed. The breakfast is another atraction, with many brazilian options. The service is also good and the staff kindly.

Good choice when staying in Rio centre. The hotel is clean and staff helpful. Eventhought the hotel is located in the centre you can hardly find open restaurant at the weekend, especially on Sunday. The centre is full of office buildings and the people are gone at the weekend so the neighborhood is very empty. Conversely, on weekdays, the centre is very noisy, actually at night too. No matter if you have room with window to the street where the traffic is very noisy or with window to the other side where you can hear airconditioning and bells from church located just next to the hotel. So we had rather the window closed at night. Nevertheless, the great party district Lapa is very close to the hotel. Copacabana is about 15 mins by car, it depends on traffic since traffic jams are ubiquitous in Rio.
