Stayed in October for a week with my girlfriend and had a great time. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the Protaras strip and also 1-minute walk from a fantastic sandy beach. Stayed on half board and was really happy that we had two restaurant options for dinner, one by the pool and the Greek restaurant at the front of the hotel. Service was very friendly at both restaurants and food quality was really good. Our apartment was very spacious, well maintained and always clean. Overall fantastic and will definitely return in the future
The room we had (401) was large and had a lovely view over the strip towards the sea.
Room was kept clean every day and towels and sheets changed twice in the week we were there. Pool was freezing - warmer in the sea. Bar and restaurant area a little tired and closed early.
Reception staff very helpful.
A little off putting that the hotel was closing for the winter on the vening we left and everything being closed down - the hotel door was locked as we were the last to leave the building!! It was our holiday. Could have shut down the following day once all residents had left for home.
Got back from the Sandra last night, we travelled as a party of 7 (4adults, 3 kids). The rooms were really spacious and very clean, maid service was every day. There has been a few bad reviews regarding this hotel and it's staff, I have worked in travel for many years and stayed in hotels of all star ratings. I fail to see how anyone could complain or give the sandra negative reviews!
The staff at the greek restaurant were great they could not do enough to help, even on the last night when the restaurant was full they managed to squeeze us in. The food was also out of this world and served within 10 mins of our order.
The pool bar where breakfast is taken and optional evening meal was fantastic, the range of breakfast you could have was great for us, from toast and cereal to full English. Never waited more than a few mins. The evening meals were really good too (crab claw and chicken bhuna were very good). The staff at the pool bar (Mark, Kerry, Michael & Gemma) were great, could not do enough for you and worked bloody hard. It would be a big loss to the Sandra Hotel if, after some of the silly reviews that have been posted this summer these staff were not to return next season!
All in all the Hotel is situated in one of the best positions on the strip, it was an absolute bargain, the food was superb and the staff are some of the best i have had the pleasure to meet.
Thanks again Mark, Kerry, Michael & Gemma have a good winter off and do us all a big favour and come back next year.
I just cannot believe anything that has been said negatively about these apartments. How on earth can they be said! Lovely apartments right on the strip. In a fantastic location. We travelled with first choice and got a fantastic price for 11 nights (went half board for the same price as self catering). We had breakfast every morning at the pool bar and then evening meal was taken either at the pool bar or the greek restaurant at the front of the hotel. The pool bar was english food and even did a sunday roast on a sunday. They also did Gammon, Spag bol, curry night, omelettes, scampi, chilli con carne and others. Food was always hot and tasted great. My husband preferred the pool bar to the greek restaurant, whereas i enjoyed both. The greet restaurant was very nice. Lots of locals in after 9pm, so that just goes to say that is a good place to eat. We are a family of 4 and i totalled all our food one night and it was over 70 euros easy! Not bad when its included as part of your half board! Lots of cypriot dishes to choose from and a childrens menu too with ice cream for dessert. Lovely atmosphere too! Back to the apartments, we had the room with the big balcony! Fantastic for the children and above reception. Maids cleaned every day, room was very spacious with 2 beds for the little ones in the living area and then a seperate bedroom. Some people moaned about the amount of storage space. There was plenty! Swimming pool area was very nice, although water was cold, but it was the middle to end of october! Weather fantastic though so a bonus. Only 20 minutes of rain one lunchtime. On our last day there, it was 29 degrees at 11am! Gets dark very quickly and was dark by 6pm! Quite nice though! Staff all very friendly, especially the pool bar staff! Had lots of chats and laughs with them and yes it was coming to the end of season and they are bound to be happy to be going home soon, but they were so friendly and were always happy and willing to do anything for you. My kids loved them. Also, the atmosphere was nice at night. Watching x-factor outside with other friendly people, drinking ouzo and keo and listening to the sound of the crickets! Fantastic! Resort as fab as ever. Love the place. Locals all very friendly. So many pubs and restaurants and drinks are cheap in most pubs. Usually offers before 10pm with cocktails priced at 2 euros. Beer at the hotel was 2.50 euros (same as the majority of the pubs), soft drinks 2 euros mainly. Supermarket over the road and fantastic bakery just down the road. I loved this place and will stay in touch with Gemma and Michael :) Thank you all for a fantastic holiday and I can't wait to go back.
