Stayed here from 9th-19th October. Stayed in room 310, 1 bedroom apartment, clean, comfortable. Great location, a minute to the gorgeous sandy beach, 2 fantastic pools. Staff helpful and friendly.....I shall be back :-)

Just returned from a two week family holiday (28/9 – 12/10) at the Golden Star in Protaras.

We were given a one bedroom apartment on the top floor with fantastic sea views, the room was modern and very clean with bedding and towels changed most days. The apartment was very well equipped for self catering purposes with hob, toaster, kettle and microwave in the kitchen area and a hair dryer and a safe in the bedroom.

The staff were all friendly especially the manager Memnia for whom nothing was too much trouble, for example giving us map of the local area and information about places to visit.

The two swimming pools were cleaned and water tested daily and likewise the surrounding areas were all kept spotless with plenty of sun beds for everyone.

The golden star is in a great location next to the beach which has a coastal path running alongside it with a selection of Beach bars/cafes on it. The main strip which is two minutes walk away from the hotel has plenty of decent bars and restaurants to choose from. Our favorite restaurants in the area were Yianna Marie belonging to the golden star, Oscars and Anatolia.

Will return again one day when it becomes available for us Brits.

Just got back from a week in these apartments. After my initial worries and emailing the hotel to request a high floor, we arrived to be given room 415 on the top floor! Room was lovely, Very modern, clean and with a fully equipped kitchen. View over the neighbouring Tsokkos Beach hotel, which gave us free entertainment from the very funny reps and some good tunes too! Maid came in 5 out of 7 days and we got clean towels and bedding. The staff were lovely and the manager greeted me by name one day and asked if everything was ok. Pools were great, one larger one and a smaller one which was a bit quieter with jacuzzi between 12 and 2. The apartments are located right next to the beach and a 2 min walk to the main strip, so ideally located for a good sleep. Eating out was very reasonable. Meals cost between 8.50 euros to 17.50 euros for 2 or 3 courses. We just looked around, you will be spoilt for choice. Drinks were also good, just look at the offers in the bars. Paid from 2.00 euros to 3.50 euros for spirits. Boat trips leave from the jetty near the apartments, we did the coca cola trip which was 10.00 euros each and lasted about 2 and a half hours, went to Famugusta and Cape Greco for a swim. We were lucky enough to see 2 weddings which was lovely and the cpatain played the wedding march to the couples from the boat. All in all a fab holiday, my hubby has never been to Cyprus before and said he never wants to go back to Spain now, he is converted to the lovely way of life and the friendly people. Fab resort, very safe and lots of things to do if you want it. Even gara rufa fish pedicures if you want one lol...Thank you to all the staff at the Golden Star - they were all fab. Shame its not being offered by Thomas Cook next year as we wanted to go back. Only negative was TC losing my case on my return to Newcastle. It is is Manchester allegedly..we will see if it arrives tomorrow as promised by courier and if it still has all its contents!.

Just returned from a week self catering at the golden star hotel, Very impressed with the clean room, all the kitchen utilities you need. Free air con in the bedroom. Great location beach is a minutes walk, supermarket is on the door step. Towels and bed sheets changed daily. Bathroom could have been better as it was more like a wet room, however it would not stop me from staying there again.
