We stayed here in October 2010, which was off season and we therefore got really good rates.

Location
It is located in Ornos Bay, about 5 miles from Mykonos Town (which is nice to escape the bustle of town). And about 20 mins on a scooter from Psarou Beach (and Nammos), where we spend most of our days.

Public areas
You have a beautiful view of the bay from the restaurant, the pool and surroundings are tastefully decorated. There is a TINY private and very secluded beach area. The lounges are nearly in the water and it's not really a serviced beach where the waiter brings drinks etc.

Rooms
Now for the rooms: the one we were staying in was pure kitsch and NOT tastefully decorated. The paintings were seriously Greece cliche. It made the hotel feel more 3 star than five.

Service
Front desk was very helpful with dinner bookings etc. Cleaning staff kept leaving the terrace door open, which meant that everyone had access to uor room from the garden and swimmingpool area for the whole day when we were out. Not really great for a five star either.

Breakfast
Beautiful (but very small) breakfast area. Main problem was that the breakfast was very fancifully arranged and looked good, but unfortunately didn't taste of much and after 3 days you'll definately get bored due to the lack of choice. Again not a 5 star breakfast.

For restaurants in the area I definitely would recommend Nammos, Sol y mar was okay too, but the beach doesn't compare to psarou. Nautilus, Kournelas, ma'ereio and una con carne for dinner

All in all, i would recommend this hotel due to it's location and it's communal areas, BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE PAYING OFF SEASON PRICES. If you pay the full price, you are better off booking at the CAVO TAGOO or the BELVEDERE in Mykonos town, which have a much nicer and trendier vibe. You might prefer Kivotos though if you are over 50 and an American looking for a 'typical' Greece experience a la Shirley Valentine.

The amount of details this property has is countless. Every corner you look you discover a new surprise. Congratulations to the architect who I heard is the owner also..a hotel like no other I’ve been before.

We stayed at the Beautiful Kivotos Hotel for a week and it was absolutely Wonderful ,A 5 Star experience all the way . The staff was so friendly and efficient . the Food was perfect and I Loved the private yacht and beach , We were so sad to leave . I would highly recommend this Hotel Thank you
