“Bliss in Fiji”

I have arrived home, relaxed and refreshed after spending 10 days at Natadola Beach Resort, Fiji.
It was great to sit beside the pool, under a canopy of large tropical trees, which protected us from the hot sun.
Our room was spacious, meal times were a joy (especially the fresh lobster). The staff were friendly and courteous, and happily attended to our needs.
I had a great time and will return in the near future.

“a place with character”

I stayed here for only one night and had a great time. The room was large, with everything you need, walk in shower and separate toilet, comfortable armchairs and a small terrace. No air conditioning, but didn't need it either, the fans hanging from the ceiling were enough and the temperature in the room was fine for me. There is an old feel to the room and the green towels were peeling everywhere, they could use a little refreshing on this side, but this was the only down side. On the up side, I really liked the small indoors bamboo garden (in the picture). The place is literally on the beach, you just walk through the door and you are walking on white sand... It has a nice size swimming pool, which was clean and refreshing, with hammocks around and plenty of shade.
To not forget the nice helpful stuff, willing to help (the manager even offered us a lift to the main road next day as the taxi was running late). I enjoyed the fresh fruit for breakfast and the pina coladas after dinner, which was quite tasty as well, while the setting for the restaurant was great - open areas with lots of vegetation, flowers, beautiful surroundings.
I woud return for the place itself, but not for the beach experience, as the horse riding on offer makes the place smelly and kind of dirty and I am not the one to appreciate keeping those animals in the heat for tourists' sake... but the Natadola Beach Resort was great!

“This place rocks”

Natadola is hands down the best accomodation I've found in Fiji. The Sandcastle suite is well worth it. Great value for money, best beach on the main island. What really makes this place is the people though. All of the staff are so friendly, from Abdul who'll pick you up at the airport, to Lousia who makes a killer pina colada, and Bob who runs the show. It's so personal you actually feel sad leaving!

“Suggest you don't stay here”

I thought this hotel looked pretty good from the internet site but on arrival, realised there was NO airconditioning. In Fiji... really? It was set back against a hill so not even the slightest breeze from the sea. We booked the premier room - the Sandcastle Villa and it was airless and dark. The bathroom had crumbling walls and fittings and the toilet bowl was cracked. The daily towels were theoretically new but were thin and left green fluff all over everything, including my body which then transferred to my (mostly white) clothes. Three weeks later I'm still picking it off. The swimming pool was full of leaf litter and the chairs around the pool clearly hadn't been cleaned for years. And then - the menu... there were 4 choices on the menu and if you don't eat seafood (like me) you've a choice of two. Extremely average food and overpriced. After 3 nights (from the 8 booked - prepaid and no refund) I couldn't stand it anymore and we moved to the neighbouring Intercontinental which was a delightful resort with pleasant facilities, good service and good restaurants. The location is excellent but choose another hotel - not the Natadola Beach Resort.

The review above stating "suggest you don't stay here" is totally untrue and unfair. These people booked for 8 nights and decided after 3 nights to leave. They were in fact offered a partial refund through their Travel Agent. These guests didn't make any complaints during their 3-day stay - they waited until they decided to move on.
Airconditioning : our website points out quite clearly that we have ceiling fans.
Swimming pool : the pool is cleaned at least twice daily, and is never covered in leaf litter.
Menu : our dinner menus are a la carte, change daily and are competitively priced.
Sand Castle Suite : This is our premier suite and nothing like their description. The earlier positive review "a slice of heaven" was put in by a couple who stayed in the same suite soon after.

“A slice of heaven”

My friend advised me to immediately leave the island Viti Levu and go to one of the outlying islands, but instead I booked us at the Natadola Beach Resort, about 45 minutes south of Nadi Airport. We were so glad that we made that choice!!! The resort sent a driver to meet us at the airport and drive us to the resort. He was immediately accommodating, stopping at an ATM so I could get some Fiji dollars, stopping for photo opportunities, giving us information about the island along the way. We travelled through interesting areas along the way and then down a steep gravel road to the most beautiful little beach with the resort. It was so perfect for us - my husband said if we were billionaires we would buy it as our tropical home. Our room was about 20' X 25', tile floor, beautiful furnished and appointed plus a large bathroom and a large deck looking out over the ocean. It even had a French press coffee maker and fresh ground french roast in the refrigerator to make our coffee when we woke up. The bar had a wonderful selection of wines and regular drinks including many delicous blended concoctions. They saved my open bottle of champagne for me in the frig so I could drink it at my leisure. The food was beyond wonderful - fresh lobster, tropical fruits. The pool is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and has natural stone steps and is open 24 hours so you can swim in the moonlight. We couldn't tear ourselves away and they even brought us menus and served us our lunch there so we wouldn't have to move. They do not allow children under 12 and they do not have airconditioning (the low key resorts on either side do if this is a huge issue for you).. The staff and management are incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating. It was the hilight of our month long vacation where everything was wonderful, but this was the topper!

Room Tip: Ask for the sand castle room!
