I have stayed at this hotel twice during cycling tours and it is one of my favorites. The little hillside town is charming and the historic building is beautifully restored. Best of all, the family who runs it has that gift of hospitality that is all too rare these days. The rooms have real character, with tall ceilings and historical furniture, at the same time, the sheets, towels, bathroom fixtures, etc. are all high quality. The cooking is excellent, especially the pesto, and there is a good selection of wines. Dinner is served in a charming room with frescoes on the ceiling. The breakfast buffet is small because they like to bring most things fresh--including eggs, prosciutto, brioche...they even went out to get me a banana one morning! This is a special place with a nice family feeling.
