I stumbled into Punta Allen after a car rental gone bad scuttled my vacation plans. All I wanted was a friendly and quiet place where I could relax, and i fund everything I was searching for at Serenidad Shardon. Nikki and her staff made me feel like I was one of the locals. In the course of my week I was invited to help teach English in the town kindergarten, learned how to hand fish in the lagoon, and spent an afternoon watching the lobster fishermen clean a big catch (they invited me in for a late lobster lunch and it was the best damn lobster I've ever had). This is one of those rare places that you grow to love and want to keep all to yourself. If you visit, plan to stay a while (I recommend staying at least a week). Trust me, you won't want to leave.
