“A Favorite Place in France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2007

Pictures of El Pinyol d’Oliva and the surrounding Catalan area of southwestern France will only whet your appetite for a visit there. This charming four-bedroom-and-bath Bed and Breakfast is situated in the heart of the walled medieval town of Ille-sur-Tet, nestled between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea.

Your hostess at El Pinyol can plan an active daily or weekly schedule, according to your wishes and interests. For our group of six, memories of fresh baked breakfast pastries, hillside and seaside hikes, village market visits, and divine meals at local restaurants and even on the roof terrace will linger. On the other hand, during your stay you may wish to simply strike out on your own each day.

El Pinyol has been tastefully and lovingly restored for guests’ comfort by the talented and knowledgeable hostess and owner. Our holiday in this magical setting: c’est magnifique!

“A B&B and Much More!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2007

This beautifully restored, three-level property, located in the center of Ille-sur-Tet, was an excellent setting for a three generation family vacation. The spacious home provided parents, children, and grand-children adequate space for family gatherings as well as personal seclusion if desired. The accommodations were excellent, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were large, modern, and clean, and the property is located a short walk from the town square. We found no shortage of activities in the area as we hiked in the Pyrenees, swam in the Mediterranean, visited cultural centers, and enjoyed a wide range of sightseeing activities. The local cuisine is excellent. The large roof terrace provided a perfect setting for an evening bar-be-que, a fine bottle of wine, a recap of the day’s activities, and plans for the next day. After spending eight days at El Pinyol d’Oliva our only regret was we had to return home.

“Unspoilt France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2007

We had a wonderful time in Ille sur Tet.
It was a joy to stay in this beautifully renovated property in the heart of the village. We were made most welcome and enjoyed exploring an area of France which is not too well known. Wonderful scenery in the foothills of the Pyrenees, cafes and bars in little villages where we could watch the world go by, and after a busy day it was idyllic to relax on the terrace.
We cannot praise the accomodation enough and the memory of croissants and homemade jam will stay with us forever.
An added bonus was that our hostess was able to tell us about the many secret delights of the area and she was a fund of suggestions of how to make the most of our time in the South west of France.

“Lovely B&B in medieval centre”

As B&B owners ourselves we needed a three day mid-season break and chose El Pinyol d'Oliva on the strength of its excellent website. We wanted to be somewhere where we had independence and could stay all day to read if we needed to. We didn't want to have to drive each evening to eat.

We were absolutely delighted with our 'find'. Anne, the owner, has made a fantastic conversion in an old town centre property. Each of the four large rooms is very stylish, with excellent attention to quality and detail. The beds were huge and extremely comfortable. There is a real feeling of space in the house. The bathrooms are also
of a very high standard.

We opted to have supper provided by the host on the first evening and
had a truly memorable meal sitting on the large roof terrace of the house with views of the church and Pyrenees.

We had exactly the break we needed and will definitely return.
