“Simple stay and enjoy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2008

Where can you start from the excellent rennovation, to the superb decor , warm welcome this BB is just heaven. The peace , tranquility of the setting is amazing. The BB itself has been totally rennovated ,while still holding on to all the old charm it manages to also give the modern comforts which is a credit to its owner and host who we found very welcoming and very helpful with all our enquiries.
The location is superb being in easy walk of the village square but also giving easy access to the amazing scenery and countryside.
What can I say but go and stay and enjoy!!

“El Pinyol d Oliva, wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2008

This last Spring I stayed at El Pinyol and would anybody travelling in this area to reserve at this marvellously restored house, neatly decorated interiors with exquisite persoanl additions designed by the owner herself. The room are spacious, colourful and have great comfy beds.
The owner is a delightful woman and receives you at a beautiful long wooden table (alo her own desig) with tea or coffee, and is very accomodating, interesting and cheerful.
An absolute gem in Ille-sur-Tet!

“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2007

This was featured recently on this site, but the photos do not do justice to this very creatively and tastefully converted guest house in the middle of this charming market town . It is lovely, with four large rooms beautifully furnished, plenty of sitting around area and a roof terrace looking over the roofs of the town towards mount Canigou. There is a more than adequate kitchen, or you can eat out in the town or surrounding area. Ille is in the midst of a very beautiful and interesting area The welcome is warm and the owner is a mine of information on places to go and things to see. I couldn't recommend it more.

“Historical France without the tears”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2007

We were looking to stay in an old French town to experience the real France and was fortunate to be introduced to this lovely accommodation. It is located in a small French town called Ille-sur-Tet.

The building is old, blending with the history of the place. However when we stepped in we were pleasantly surprized by the well restored, 3 storey house. There were 4 bedrooms with baths and many common areas to stretch out. It is perfect place to stay for an extended family. We agree with the other comments that the beds were comfortable, bathrooms were large, modern, and clean. There is an open terrace on the roof where family or friends can sit around, drink wine and enjoy the perfect Mediterranean sky.

Being located in a small town, it is a short walk to town square and every where else. The streets were quaint and narrow. Fortunately, there were ample parking spaces a short walk away. If you are lucky, you can also park in front of the building.

We couldn't speak French so we were glad that Ann, our Scottish host, was more than able to help us out with the places to eat and sight-see. The surrounding area is also ideal for walking and hiking, with the beautiful Pyrenees mountains in view. Yet we are not far from shopping in the city of Perpignan, which is about 20 minutes drive to the south.

All in all, a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

“A Favorite Place in France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2007

Pictures of El Pinyol d’Oliva and the surrounding Catalan area of southwestern France will only whet your appetite for a visit there. This charming four-bedroom-and-bath Bed and Breakfast is situated in the heart of the walled medieval town of Ille-sur-Tet, nestled between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea.

Your hostess at El Pinyol can plan an active daily or weekly schedule, according to your wishes and interests. For our group of six, memories of fresh baked breakfast pastries, hillside and seaside hikes, village market visits, and divine meals at local restaurants and even on the roof terrace will linger. On the other hand, during your stay you may wish to simply strike out on your own each day.

El Pinyol has been tastefully and lovingly restored for guests’ comfort by the talented and knowledgeable hostess and owner. Our holiday in this magical setting: c’est magnifique!
