“Back with our friends again”

This was our 2nd trip to this Hotel and really you could not ask for anything more out of a budget Hotel. We went to visit some others this time and were not impressed. If you don't like Bajan food - dont book a cheap all inclusive. The beauty of going back to the same place is that you learn what you need to take next time. There are suble differences in Hotels that make all the difference. At Coral Mist you never have to pay for an Umbrella. You can hand wash your clothing and leave them on the patio to dry. You can leave your patio doors open all day and at night. You are right on the beach literally. They don't take your card details and try to stitch you up with charges. Rooms are cleaned every day and the staff are really friendly. You are right on a main road so the bus can take you to Bridgetown or up to Holetown and Speightstown or take you the other way up to Oistins. You are then 10 minutes away from St Lawrence Gap where all the nightlife is. This Hotel is quiet and there are alot of return visitors.
The staff are all great and they really make the Hotel what it is. And with the Holiday companies charging a massive amount to return this year it really is best you book direct with the Hotel to make Barbados financially viable.

Room Tip: You need ground floor if traffic REALLY bothers you or you are a late sleeper but mostly the sound o...

“3rd time...still good!”

The excellent location on a superb beach is the main reason for our return here. Having now experienced a 1 bed apartment twice, a couple of days in the Penthouse and this time a studio, all of these accommodations served us well providing a base from which to wander either by foot (to supermarket and restaurants) or by car. As we were arriving at the start of the holidays, the hotel offered to buy us (we paid on arrival) our basic groceries which really helped in ensuring we had decent food whilst the supermarkets were closed.
Perhaps the only very minor gripe in using a studio is that preparation/kitchen space around the sink unit is extremely limited even for 2 people( we put the toaster on the balcony) and the microwave was perched on top of the fridge, hard for me to reach. Although cloths and tea towels are provided, just a small amount of washing up liquid would be very much appreciated. Coffee filters provided and towels changed every day.
The road noise can take some getting used to and we heard lots of clients complaining about this but if the bathroom door is kept closed and the a/c is on, it shouldn't be a problem. Similarly, the sea is NOT quiet, (we love it) and it would be very difficult to avoid this sound if you were in The Coral Mist, not sure about The Blue Orchid next door.
Seems the pool service is still a bit haphazard in that some days a young man sorted out the lounger tops whilst on the others, wet ones from previous nights rain, were left outside and clients were having to rummage through some quite tatty older tops mixed with what looked like very new tops.
For those wanting a fantastic location with self catering facilities, it would be hard to beat The Coral Mist Hotel.......we are hoping to book for 4th time soon.

Room Tip: If you are used to a fairly spacious kitchen, a studio may be too small. The 1 bed apartment is bett...

“Brilliant Hotel/apartment”

Great location and great value for money. Beds really good quality as was the kitchen greatly equiped. Staff lovely and very helpful. We had ground floor studios and you could just step out from them onto the beach. Only one tiny problem was these particular studios were very near to the bar and kitchens and quite noisey early morning when staff were starting work in the kitchens however it did not spoil our holiday. Bonus was sharing the other pool which was great as not crowded at all. Would go back.

Room Tip: If you are not an early riser best not to go for ground rooms adjacent to the restaurant and bar.

Good location, near the Gap and only about 20 mins transfer from the airport, which is ideal after an 8 hour flight.
Friendly staff - reception, cleaners, restaurant, security, beach boy - everybody !! First time on the island and wasn't sure what to expect but looking at the reviews on here for the Coral Mist, we weren't disappointed. Yeh the road out front can be noisy but we got used to it, the view from the balcony on to the beach more than made up for it. Hotel looked a wee bit tired but they were sprucing it up in the few days before we left - new beach brollys, painting the bar / restaurant decking etc.
Plenty bars, restaurants around and as you're on the main road no waiting for buses if you want to go further afield. The official buses or the reggae buses are all flat fare $2BBD. Our studio apartment was a good size with AC and the kitchen had a full sized domestic fridge freezer and gas cooker. With 2 supermarkets within 5 mins walk, both came in handy.
Had a lovely meal on our last night at Champers virtually next door to the hotel (turn left out of the hotel and up the side road). Maybe a bit expensive for some people ($300BBD for two 3 course meals plus some drinks) but a perfect end to a wonderful holiday. At the other end of the scale we had a great time at the Crystal Waters beach bar Sunday BBQ from 12:30, $30BBD, music and happy hour 4-5. Located on the next beach up from Coral Mist (turn right out of hotel).

Room Tip: All rooms face the sea but some overlook another apartment block. Ground floor rooms have a small te...
