“Would go back”

First time to portinatx the main reason I chose this hotel was based on budget.

The room that my friend and i stayed in was clean, average sized and problem free. The hotel itself has 2 swimming pools which did leave me ever so slighty disappointed as I expected them to be bigger, however the views from the front swimming pool area has amazing views across the beach.

The hotel is in a great location just a 30 second walk down to the beach, however lots of steps so not ideal for people with mobility issues or children with pushchairs. There are lots of restaurants and shops along the bay just a few minutes walk

Each and every member of staff was polite and helpful.

The food at this hotel is very hit and miss, they are buffet style meals, breakfast was more than adequate and i found this the most enjoyable meal of the day. Evening meals were more a case of discovering what you liked and what you didn't but there was always fresh salad, bread, chips ...so even fussy eaters would find something. The desserts were pretty good though so kids would be happy. In general the food is very much geared towards Italian/German tastes, if you are looking for great food avoid this hotel or just have evening meals out.

The only thing I would have liked at this hotel would be some evening entertainment, there was entertainment 1 night but again it was geared to Italian/German nationalities. The entertainment for the children is all done in Italian.

To summarize....I would stay at this hotel again, it is suited to couples and friends wanting a quiet relaxing holiday and is a good base to explore.

“Good value for money, lovely peaceful holiday”

We arrived at 3:30 in the morning to find the room given to us had not been made up, straight back to reception & we were then given another room, which we discovered on opening the curtains was at road level. Thought this was the start of a rubbish holiday & felt like getting straight back on the plane to come home but when we went back to reception later that morning we were told that although they couldn't move us that day, to return the next & they would see what they could do.
We returned the next day not expecting to be lucky but were given a lovely room with a seaview that overlooked the pool.
As we had booked All Inclusive I was a little bit wary about the food but found it to be varied, plentiful & filling so we never had a problem finding something we fancied to eat, with wine, beer & soft drinks included at lunch & dinner. The staff in the restaurant worked extremely hard, clearing used plates as soon as they were finished with & making sure there were cleared tables so if there was a queue, you only had to wait for a couple of minutes before getting a table.
The room was cleaned every day, with towels changed when we requested them to be.(There was a water shortage on the island & we were trying to be eco-friendly!)
Portinax is a quiet little village & not the place to go to if you are a party animal, there are a couple of bars & restaurants but mainly they seemed to be for enjoying a meal & a quiet drink. A few people in the hotel we met said they wished there had been more entertainment in the evening but as we wanted a quiet holiday, this was perfect for us.
The beach is clean & very pretty, with sun loungers & umbrellas charged at 5 euros each, we bought mats & an umbrella from the village for 13 euros in total.
The website we booked with said the beach was down a "few steps" from the hotel, we never got around to counting them but there were more than a few steps there but think there was an alternate way to get to the beach at the side of the hotel, so if you have mobility problems this may be an issue for you.
All in all apart from the "blip" with the room at the beginning, we had a lovely holiday, with beautiful weather in a lovely location & have already started to look to book again next year!!

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view, failing that ask for 2nd or 3rd floor room.

“Wanted a relaxing family stay....got it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We visited the oasis with a view to a completely relaxing, chilled out family holiday – with no fuss, and this is exactly what we got.

The location of the hotel in my view was excellent. It was about 25 steps to one of the smaller beaches in portinatx. Portinatx itself is a small town so the centre was about 8 mins walk from the hotel itself.

All staff were polite, multilingual and extremely hardworking. I saw them all work the entire week I was there and from dusk until dawn.

I was a bit worried about buffet style food but was very surprised at the wide range and selection on offer. Every meal time there were different main dishes and enough selection for me to have at least 5 courses. The food was of a good standard, including steak cooked to your liking on some nights and a nice camembert. I have a sensitive stomach and can report no issues with any of the food.

The bar area is nice overlooking the bay. Entertainment was a bit dubious on the 3 or so nights it was on but I wasnt expecting a westend show!

The rooms were of an adequate size and the block we were in were recently refurbished so had nice brand new bathrooms. The rooms only had one English speaking channel; CNN, but considering I was full of red wine by the time I got back to the room it was not a problem.
Each room has a good size balcony which is nice. The room we has was always cleaned to a high standard.

Portinatx itself is a nice town. It is small, with a small element of brits abroad encroaching in on it – but it appeared as if the majority of holiday makers at the hotel and town were German. There was a nice bar opposite the hotel which showed the F1 which was nice. the sea was clear and full of sea life.

On one day I went on a glass bottomed boat – this was interesting and we got to view the sea life an old boat wreck and go into a cave. I must warn anyone without sea legs that although the bay is calm, once out on the sea it is a different story!

Another day we took the bus to Ibiza town which was lovely. Bus is a reasonable price 4 Euros or so each way.

Overall a very good holiday and I would definitely recommend both the town and the hotel. A 5* palace it is not – but if your after good service, food and a reasonable place to stay you could do a lot worse.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are at the part of the hotel where the entertainment is.

“Excellent value, great views, very relaxing stay!”

Myself, my fiance and 6 year old daughter stayed here for a week All inclusive at the end of August 2011.

The rooms were basic but cleaned daily with new towels with free air conditioning.

The All inclusive was decent;
Breakfast consisted of your usual bacon, eggs (scrambled, fried, boiled and omlette), tomatoes, mushrooms etc etc, along with various meats, pastries, fresh fruit, youghurts and cereals.

Lunch & Evening meal had quite a good selection also, with various pasta dishes, meat and fish dishes along with fresh salads, roasted vegetables and of course chips.

Drinks were decent, with Estrella beer, most spirits, wine, coffee, soft drinks etc all available as part of the all inclusive.

The bar had great views overlooking the beach which is only steps away. The beach itself is possibly one of the best beaches in Ibiza, with lovely soft clean sand, crystal blue waters and a very relaxed atmosphere!

Overall we were very impressed with the hotel and even more impressed with Portinatx as a place!

“Helpful, kind staff. Lovely location”

Whilst on hoilday in Portinatx my bag was stolen from Vicents bar and I had all of my belongings taken.

Due to not having any money or phone the manager of the hotel kindly helped cancel my cards etc and personally drove me to the local police station to make a report! All staff were supportive and throughly kind during a horrible experince.

The location is lovely with beautiful beaches and cristal clear waters.

The only problem was on the first night of the holiday there were ants in our room but the hotel sent the maids in to clean the room and gave us insect repellent and the problem was sorted that very day...

Would recommend this holiday for familes mainly as not many couples and very quiet chilled atmosphere...

DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING TO VICENTS BAR... keep your belongings on you at all times too!!
