The Chateau is not easy to find, but is well situated and quiet. A bit shabby inside and could do with some replastering and painting, but everything worked. Terrace and dining room have good views and staff were pleasant (although as usual in France not especially welcoming). The dinner was quite good except that the vegetables served with the lamb were stone cold. Dinners on 2 other tables made similar comments,. but when I mentioned the problem to the waitress she shrugged as if to say 'so what?'.
My principal complaint is the poor breakfast - totally self service including a thermo-jug of appalling coffee, no spoons for the cereal and no staff to respond to a request for one.
The breakfast was €15 per person and was simply not worth even half that - just a few chunks of bread, croissants that might have been OK if they had been fresh, the only cereal option was a large glass bowl containing cornflakes that were attracting lots of flies. Overall very disappointing - a pity since potentially the Chateau could be a really good and relaxing stop.
The really sad but amusing aspect of our stay was my wife's request ' is there a pool?'. Oh yes said the man at reception, and led us along corridors, through the dining room and out to the garden. We walked in a line across to the pool which he pointed it out to us and said - it's dirty because we haven't cleaned it yet - we may clean it next week! we were staying for 1 night only, and would have appreciated being told that therte was no usable pool rather than be taken on a hike to see a dirty one.
