“Peace and Tranquility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

We stayed in the Isla Lodge which was wonderful, the bbq hut was amazing and was made full use of on New Year's Day which made is quite special.
It was such a relaxing break away although the snow decided to make a reappearance so we were unsure as to how well we would travel down the access road.
It was such a beautiful place and we had the advantage of being able to visit the farmhouse as we surprised some other family members who were residing there. It was spectacular with a kitchen to die for.
We will definitely go back to sample some of the other residential units if not Isla Lodge again.

“Great venue for wedding and guests”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

We took over the whole complex in order to accommodate the many guests attending my sons wedding. The venue and the accommodation are superb and the setting and views are spectacular. On the day after the wedding we used the BBQ house to hold a lunchtime BBQ for those guests who were still in the area/staying at the venue and this really was the icing on the cake (both metaphorically and literally as there was some wedding cake left over!!)
The whole wedding occasion went fantastically well but this was in no small way due to the excellence of Parkmore Cottages.

“Amazing way to start married life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

We took over the complex of Parkmore for our wedding and all extended family and friends fitted into all th individual cottages. Each was unique but stunning in its own way. Ourselves as the bridal couple stayed in Isla Lodge which was absolutely fantastic with its own little BBQ hut which we used for a huge family BBQ on the Sunday. Di and Viv could not be more helpful and friendly and having the complex added something special for the weekend. We'll all be back in future!

“A fabulous experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2010

We booked to stay in the Farmhouse for a week with extended family as we were up for a wedding at Drummuir Castle. Unfortunately it decided to snow VERY HEAVILY a couple of days before we arrived thus cutting power to the cottage. Nonetheless Viv and Diane couldn't be more helpful and organised candles, wind-up torches and lit the fires to ensure we would be comfortable. They had even arranged with local friends the use of their showers the morning of the wedding. We were all relieved when the power came back on.
Parkmore is set in a stunning setting and the farmhouse was huge, with comfortable beds, a great kitchen where everyone tended to congregate and wireless internet. We would highly recommend a stay here, although would like to keep this hidden gem safe from the masses! ENJOY!

“Great find in heart of the Highlands”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2010

Our cottage, the Corn Loft was adorable and comfortable. This self-catering accomodation is a super value if you are looking for a base to explore castles, whiskey, or outdoor activities. The staff are very helpful, and the sheep Cuthbert and Rover are ready to greet you, as well.

The kitchen was well appointed,. with coffee, tea, and biscuits ready for you on arrival. A wood-burning stove in the living room provided a cozy touch and additional heat.

We enjoyed a very brief stay due to an unusual early spring blizzard-- you couldn't get there from anywhere! So, if traveling in anytime surrounding winter, know that adorable Dufftown is prone to higher snow than other villages in the immediate area! They had 3 feet (and had lost power) when the surrounding area had anywhere from none to a foot.

Though we were there briefly, I can recommend a few local attractions-- The Glenfiddich distillery gives a nice tour, and the Mash Tun in Abelour has good food-- a pub trying to be more than a pub and succeeding.

Check out time was a bit early (10:00), particularly since you have to tidy the cottage and leave it as you found it. Not too hard for us as we only made it one night, but if we'd been there longer, it would have been more of a challenge!

The prepayment policy is strict, so if you are travelling in the winter time, particularly from faraway, I recommend travel insurance!

Note wireless is available but not in your cottage- you need to go the office, which is quite close.
