“A Tuscan Treat”

My family and i hired the whole of the hotel for a week, as they also hire it out as a villa (called Beppes villa on some web sites). It was perfect for us, 9 large bedrooms, all ensuite and tastefully decorated to a high standard. The large dining room was great for our meals together, and Mama prepared breakfast for us most mornings and cooked us a 4 course meal twice at our request. All meals were optional, but proved to be good value, especially the breakfast as it meant we didnt have to worry about shopping and feeding the children in the morning, and all the preparing and clearing up was done for us. Feeding 14 people in the morning was much simpler this way, and the left over bread/ meat/ cheese/ fruit/ yogurt/ juice etc was left for us to finish off through the day, which often made for an easy lunch with a few added extras. We can recommend the evening meals too, home made pastas, lasagne, beef stew, tiramisu etc all fabulous! The kitchen is well equipped, except there was no kettle so we had a pan on the stove the whole time for tea! and no washing machine.
Outside is perfect, huge pool, lovely garden with fruit trees and views to remember, plus a hammock in the shade which was well used due to the summer heat. Our only problem was there was no air conditioning and only 2 rooms had fans, which led to some warm and sticky nights at the height of summer. Radicondoli is about 15 mins walk up a steep hill, and is a lovely littel traditional village, with a few shops, a bar and a great osteria called la pergola which has the most amazing views from its terrace. Book ahead in the peak months if you want a terrace seat. The drive up to the villa is long and winding and the dirt track which leads from the road needs to be taken very slowly, but you get rewarded with great views and a sense of your own little piece of tuscan hillside.
Overall, the owners are very helpful and friendly, the villa/hotel is fantastic and the views are what you dream of, i recommend you go!

“Amazing tuscan getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2007

We stayed 4 days at Podere Giogliano and could not have asked for a better typical Tuscan stay! It's even more amazing than the famous landscapes you have seen in movies!

What a wonderful time we had! Federica, the young lady who runs the family B&B, was so very nice and helpful, from the time we made the internet reservation via an online service to our stay there. She provided great advice for visits in Tuscany and truly made these 4 days feel like "a vacation withing our 3 weeks vacation in Italy"! For the very reasonnable price of 108 euros/night, we had a huge confortable room with en suite bathroom, very clean, quiet surroundings, tuscan landscape right outside the window and a delicious 4 course homemade meal would await us every evening! WOW ! At breakfast, Federica's mother would give us options for the evening's meal and we got to ask whatever we wanted to eat, italian food at its best! She even shared her recipes with us!

The hotel is about 1 km from Radicondoli village, so you are in the country without being too far out. There is a nice restaurant in the village called " Il Granaio". Radicondolli is a lovely picturesque hilltop village. Typical Tuscan lifestyle with little tourist influence if you want to experience the "real Tuscany". However, be informed that the last 10 km to get there are winding roads, which you have to negotiate every day. This is one of the charms of the village and keeps it out of the way.

We have already recommended Podere Giogliano to our friends and we would go back in a heartbeat!
