Stayed from 4th - 11th September.
Good points:-
Large apartment, large kitchen area, well equipped for self-catering. Easy access to nice, small swimming pool.
Two comfortable beds. Books left by other tourists.
Nice situation, see photo. Seating and swimming area just across the road.
Bar and cafe/restaurant attached, cheaper option food and plentiful.
Lots of locals using same, day and night.
Road closed at either end every evening.
Bad points:-
Apartment floors filthy and never cleaned all week.
No air conditioning in our ground floor apartment; even with french windows and bedroom windows open, and pouring cold water on our top sheets, we were very uncomfortable.
Sheets never changed.
Towels changed once, but not bath mat, which was unusable at end of hols.
Rubbish bins opposite bedroom windows were very noisily emptied into truck at 1.00am practically every day!!!!
Not allowed to sit at outside tables of cafe/restaurant, if only having a drink, although some locals were.
One parrot and two cockatoos stuck in tiny cages by pool for most of day, poor things.
Lots of persistent flies.
Swimming pool compressor running very loudly all day and night, situated adjacent to our place.
Would return to Fornells gladly, but not at these apartments unless things improved greatly. Having said that, we only paid £160 for the week.

the apartment was very basic and simple but clean enough, it was equipped with a rusty gas cooker, toaster, washing machine and fridge cooker.

as it was the end of october the area was closing up for the winter so no fresh milk was to be found in any of the 2 supermarkets still open.

there are a handful of fish restaurants and even fewer shops still open and nothing in the way of entertainment at night.

some of the waitering staff appeared off hand and rude, ( you would think they would be glad of the business at this time of the year).

will not be visiting fornells again

The C'an Digus apartments are right on the harbour front in Fornells. Some of the apartments have sea views and others views over the pool. Our apartment was a two bedroom duplex with a pool view (we had only booked a one bedroom, so it must have been an upgrade). Both bedrooms had air con units and small windows with superb views over the harbour. The kitchen had an oven, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, toaster, electric kettle and all the usual cooking equipment. I can't vouch for the efficiency of the cooker because I never used it - there is a large choice of very good restaurants in Fornells.

The pool was a bit cold but it was May. We ate in the C'an Digus restaurant on a few occasions and found the food good. We had no problem having drinks only and quite a few locals used the bar.

Parking was no problem and we left the car in a small car park opposite every night.

We thought the apartments were very reasonably priced and would definately return.

We stayed in these apartments for two weeks in August 2006 as we had visited Menorca before and liked Fornells very much. The apartments are very basic and overpriced for what you get, hardly any kitchen facilities apart from an ancient toaster and a gas cooker that takes twice the normal time to cook anything. There wasn't even a kettle (is that too much to ask?) or other what I thought were basic kitchen appliances. There was not much ventilation in the apartment, apart from opening windows which meant you let the noise in (especially from the restaurant). You could rent a fan for a small charge but surely this wouldn't cost too much to include in the total price. A funny set up really, the restaurant next door shares some of the premises but is run totally separately which makes it a little awkward sometimes if you just fancy a drink and no meal (we were refused drinks only). Also, there were no other english children staying here so our daughter got a little bored, do not rely on this if looking for somewhere to keep the kids occupied.
The pool area was nice and clean with plenty of sun loungers.
However, all that said, Fornells is a lovely place and we were out most of the time so we made the best of it.
