Sometimes a good measure of an establishment is to take the opportunity to revisit and compare. We did just that last week and this time we brought along some discerning friends who were staying in the region from Australia. The lunch we enjoyed in the restaurant did not disappoint in any respect.
As before, we put ourselves in the hands of Chef Martial Berthuit and went for the set menu and the sommelier’s wine recommendation. And yet again, it was simply delicious. We arrived for an early lunch so we could drive on to Epernay later. Despite this, the tables around us soon filled and once again we found we were the only English-speaking guests.
M. Berthuit and his wife take great care to greet their guests personally and we were served by the same attentive waiter as last year, which we think says something about the establishment too.
If ever you find yourself in the region, it’s still well worth making the effort to go there for a meal.
