My husband and i had stayed a week at Argyle Guest House. We stayed in room 7 and found the accomodation perfect and spacious in comparision to other B&Bs.
The breakfasts were great there was a range of choice, and the salmon ad eggs were amazing with the fresh bread.
I would definately return for another stay, the owners Dianne and Steve went out of their way to make us comfortable.
This far out weighs our experience at some of the Hotels we visited on our trip.

We stayed here unexpectedly last winter to try to cram in another days skiing. The heating went off at 11pm, and we were left with a wee heater in the middle of the room which generated very little heat.......................
We were given lots of info the next morning about how she could cut the cost of her breakfast from a paltry amount to give her a greater profit, but she wasn't prepared to reduce the quality.......................OMG if that was quality..................have never had such a poor breakfast - seemed like it had been cooked some time before and allowed to dry out nicely................

I stayed a week at Argyle House for a horse trip in September. The rooms are all nicely decorated and very cozy. Hospitality couldn't be better. Dianne was a pleasure to chat with and made sure that our every need was met. She has many amazing stories about her family and her life in South Africa & London. Steven's food is delicious, too. Highly recommend staying here-- you won't be disappointed!

Super place hidden in a small town of 300 or so. We stayed to check out the Highland Games at a nearby town and found this place. The owners are as sweet as can be; definitely do not miss the home-baked bread in the morning! Hot out of the oven! The owners used to run one of the swankiest hotels in London so they have some great stories to tell, plus, they have retired and brought that great personal service effort down here to Tomintoul. Tomintoul is very blessed to have this couple as new (4+years) neighbors.

If you are fortunate enough to be in Tomintoul between April and mid-October, try to eat at the Clockhouse Restaurant across the street. It's a small place with absolutely the best food (best we had in Scotland over a week, and probably one of the best meals the 4 of us had...makes for a great complete vacation.
